Documentation Questions - updating wiki, channel variables
by Michael Collins 02 Nov '07

Guys, Just wondering if there are still blogs by anthm and pdt, per the wiki main page: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Main_Page#Developer_Blogs I know Trixter's is still there, but what about Paul and Anthony? It's looking for a domain of freeswitch.info which seems uninhabited. If there are developer blogs I'd like to get the page updated with the correct links, and if there aren't then I'd like to get the links removed. Secondly, I was curious about channel variables. I know there is a big list here: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Channel_Variables I was curious to know if this list is up to date. I see that some are listed as 'unknown' which is okay for now - I just want to make sure that all of the variables are on the list. Are all of these defined in switch_types.h? (Just curious - if I know where to look in the source I can compare the source code to the wiki list.) Thanks, MC

Compile error, switch_swig.c
by tuhl＠ix.netcom.com 01 Nov '07

Hi, I'm in the process of updating freeswitch on a Linux server and found this compile error. The list of commands I used to get the source and compile, is at the end of the email. ... making all mod_perl Compiling perlxsi.c... Compiling mod_perl.c... Creating mod_perl.so... ../../../switch_swig.c: In function ?fs_core_init?: ../../../switch_swig.c:58: error: incompatible type for argument 2 of ?switch_core_init? ../../../switch_swig.c:58: error: too few arguments to function ?switch_core_init? Analysis: In switch_swig.c, switch_core_init is being called on line 58 with 2 args: status = switch_core_init(path, &err); But the function definition in switch_core.c has 3 args: SWITCH_DECLARE(switch_status_t) switch_core_init(const char *console, switch_core_flag_t flags, const char **err) I'm pretty sure I've gotten the latest of everything. Here's what I doing: cd /usr/src svn checkout <http://svn.freeswitch.org/svn/freeswitch/trunk>http://svn.freeswitch.org/svn/freeswitch/trunk freeswitch - this got revision 6087 yesterday cd freeswitch ./bootstrap.sh export CFLAGS="-g -ggdb" export MOD_CFLAGS="-g -ggdb" ./configure make megaclean make all install Tom =============== tuhl(a)ix.netcom.com

Looking for custom mod development/integration
by Jonathan Palley 01 Nov '07

01 Nov '07

All - We are looking for someone to work with us at integrating the Global IP Sound VE technology (http://gipscorp.com) into FreeSWITCH (don't worry...we are handling the licensing). We are also doing integration of FreeSWITCH into our distributed call center application built with Ruby on Rails (we're the developers of telegraph.rubyforge.org library which we are making work with FreeSWITCH) and would certainly be interested in an "experienced" freeswitcher helping with that. We clearly will be contributing back to the community as we get FreeSWITCH to work with our application. If any of these project interest you, please send me an email (jpalley(a)idapted.com) We are an American startup headquartered in Beijing, China. More info here (http://idapted.com) and here (http://englishquad.com) It does not matter where you work from. Thanks - Jonathan ------------------------ Jonathan Palley VP Product/Technology Idapted Inc. http://www.idapted.com http://www.englishquad.com
