Windows compiled binary doesnt generate certificate for tls
by Bipin Patel 28 Jul '08

i have been looking for the freeswitch windows binary from long and i found that at freeswitch so i downloaded it etc and works perfect except i wanna test it by installing it on my server but voip is blocked in my country so i have to use tls for signalling but when i enable that in internal.xml then i cant find a way to generate a certificate for it so the ssl folder remains empty. can any1 tell me is there a way to copy a certificate file to that folder as i have 2 certificate generated from voxilla for tls and srtp but both just have the mini cert portion and key file, so how do i put this into a file and use it from freeswitch as the gen_cert command doesnt work to generate certificate files as i think the script is missing for windows or something like that, no idea as im new to this. basically some1 help me just get the device to register using tls, the srtp portion ill look into later on. i did a trace and found out that the tls packets from linksys spa3102 reach the server but nothing happens as certs missing in freeswitch if any1 could compile the latest windows binary then i can host it for u for others to download also Regards, Bipin

Security for mod_xml_curl
by Ashutosh 26 Jul '08

26 Jul '08

Hi, i am using mod_xml_curl for user provioning. I am concerned for the fact that the output generated by the mod_xml_curl hander script gets returned to FS in plain text, and it contains attributes like password etc., in plain-text. Is there something, or planned, like SSL , or something else that will make the output secure. Though, i have been using the a1-hash attrib for password, still i wondered if the whole XML output could be secured someway? Thanks for all you do! Best Regards, ashutosh

Errors in loading spidermonkey* modules
by Erol Akarsu 25 Jul '08

25 Jul '08

I compiled the latest release with --enable-core-odbc-support and chnaged modules.conf to compile all mod_spidermonkey* modules. But I see the following in freeswitch console when it starts. As you see, FS could not find 'switch_module_load symbol in all spidermonkey modules. did I do something wrong? 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CONSOLE] mod_spidermonkey.c:944 sm_load_file() Successfully Loaded [/usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_teletone.so] 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CONSOLE] mod_spidermonkey.c:944 sm_load_file() Successfully Loaded [/usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_core_db.so] 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CONSOLE] mod_spidermonkey.c:944 sm_load_file() Successfully Loaded [/usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_socket.so] 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CONSOLE] switch_loadable_module.c:778 switch_loadable_module_load_file() Successfully Loaded [mod_spidermonkey] 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [NOTICE] switch_loadable_module.c:237 switch_loadable_module_process() Adding Application 'javascript' 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [NOTICE] switch_loadable_module.c:257 switch_loadable_module_process() Adding API Function 'jsrun' 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [NOTICE] switch_loadable_module.c:257 switch_loadable_module_process() Adding API Function 'jsapi' 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CRIT] switch_loadable_module.c:756 switch_loadable_module_load_file() Error Loading module /usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_teletone.so **Cannot locate symbol 'switch_module_load' please make sure this is a valid module.** 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CRIT] switch_loadable_module.c:756 switch_loadable_module_load_file() Error Loading module /usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_core_db.so **Cannot locate symbol 'switch_module_load' please make sure this is a valid module.** 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CRIT] switch_loadable_module.c:756 switch_loadable_module_load_file() Error Loading module /usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_socket.so **Cannot locate symbol 'switch_module_load' please make sure this is a valid module.** 2008-07-25 19:10:35 [CRIT] switch_loadable_module.c:756 switch_loadable_module_load_file() Error Loading module /usr/local/freeswitch/mod/mod_spidermonkey_odbc.so **Cannot locate symbol 'switch_module_load' please make sure this is a valid module.** Erol Akarsu

Where do the trixswitch devs meet?
by Mike Fedyk 25 Jul '08

25 Jul '08

Hi, I'm taking a look at the installation of freeswitch in the trixswitch project and see a few things I'd like to help with, but I don't see any SRPMs, or even posts from the developers on their forums. Anything to point me in the right direction would be great. Thanks

speak with dtmf collect
by Boris Krivonog 25 Jul '08

25 Jul '08

Hi all! I'm using event sockets to remotely drive freeswitch. Is there a read like functionality for speak that can be used with event sockets, for example: Something like: SendMsg <uuid> call-command: execute execute-app-name: speak execute-app-arg: 1 10 'press 1 for option A and 2 for option B' digits 10000 # Thanks in advance, Boris

context="public" on profiles in default config and why!
by Brian West 25 Jul '08

25 Jul '08

Recently a bug has been opened on the default config because the context on all the profiles are set to "public". Let me take a few moments to clarify WHY its like this. The internal profile is the one setup in the default configuration for users to register with. If you notice each user has a "user_context" variable on them. If you register to FreeSWITCH and auth your context is set to the value of user_context during that call. Now here is the reason I choose to have public as the context on the internal profile.... If for any reason you turn off auth or mess up your config and users no longer auth but are able to get in and the context is set to public that keeps people from bypassing any security and accessing your dialplan that should only be accessed by authenticated users.... ie toll fraud. Hope this clarifies that choice in the defaults. Thanks, Brian West sip:brian@freeswitch.org

hangup incoming call with busy
by Jonas Gauffin 25 Jul '08

25 Jul '08

Hello What should I add in the diaplan if I want to reject a call with busy as status code? Should I add the "hangup" application with SWITCH_CAUSE_BUSY or the "respond" application with 486? //Jonas
