Verto syntax to use TURN server
by David P 23 Sep '19

23 Sep '19

Hi Robert! Verto is able to connect to our STUN/TURN server from both Chrome and Firefox (at least on Win10) using the following format: iceServers: [ { urls: 'stun:((domain of STUN server)):443', }, { urls: "turn:((domain of TURN server)):443?transport=tcp", username: "((username for TURN server))", credential: "((password for TURN server))" } ] Btw, the port and transport above are configured in our coturn to ensure we support TURN TLS. Hi Folks, I am looking for some hints how we can make an voicemail server for our company users to have their own voicemail box, then we save all voice files on AWS S3. I see mod_http_cache, but afraid of it's only solution or there is better one. Please advise. Regards,HY

Register-transport and Register-Proxy with TCP
by Sharath Kumar 22 Sep '19

22 Sep '19

I have the below gateways.xml file. FS 1.6.19. <include> <gateway name="VoIP-1"> <param name="outbound-proxy" value="xx.xx.xx.xx" /> <param name="register-proxy" value="xx.xx.xx.xx" /> <param name="proxy" value="xx.xx.xx.xx" /> <param name="register-transport" value="tcp" /> <param name="username" value="1222" /> <param name="password" value="***" /> <param name="extension-in-contact" value="true" /> <param name="auth-username" value="***" /> <param name="retry-seconds" value="30" /> <param name="expire-seconds" value="3600" /> </gateway> </include> But the REGISTER and the INVITE's are being sent out using UDP!. The strange part is the SIP headers both in the Request URI and the contact header contain "transport=tcp". send 750 bytes to udp/[xx.xx.xx.xx]:5060 at 23:30:20.632901: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ REGISTER sip:xx.xx.xx.xx;transport=tcp SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/UDP xx.xx.xx.xx;rport;branch=z9hG4bKj7QXQX0X8tD3j Max-Forwards: 70 From: <sip:1222@xx.xx.xx.xx>;tag=6Be8aaD192rcK To: <sip:1222@1xx.xx.xx.xx> Call-ID: a8905624-0576-421f-ba71-fb50c700e876 CSeq: 9232391 REGISTER Contact: <sip:1222@xx.xx.xx.xx:5060;transport=tcp;gw=VoIP-1> If I remove the Register-Proxy and Outbound-Proxy and just use Proxy everything works fine on TCP. Also, if I set the transport param in the SIP profile to TCP things work fine. But I have multiple gateways in the same profile, so setting the SIP profile is less desirable. Am I missing something or is this a bug ? Any help really appreciated! Thanks, Shaks

BLF NOTIFYs only for initiator, never recipient
by Jeff Pyle 21 Sep '19

21 Sep '19

Hello, This is on v1.8.7, although I observed the same behavior when I was still on 1.6.x, so I'm figuring I have something configured wrong. I have a small number of users registering into the internal profile from a variety of devices. All call flows work fine in all directions with full media with no discernable network issues. My problem is with BLF; I see status changes only for the initiator of a call, and never the recipient. I have users 201 through 204 on this system (among others). At the moment I have 201 subscribed to status for 203 and 204. Whenever 203 or 204 places a call, 201 gets a NOTIFY and the visual status changes accordingly. Whenever 203 or 204 receives a call, 201 gets nothing. I've looked at 'sofia global debug presence' and I've verified Freeswitch doesn't try to send a NOTIFY in the recipient cases. I do see a multitude of database queries but nothing that screams error. I've tried clearing out the /var/lib/freeswitch/db directory during a restart. I've tried jiggling every configuration parameter that could have an impact. I cannot cause any change in this behavior. The Google isn't shedding any light either, leading me to believe I've done something exceptional and unintentional to cause this. The subscribing devices in this case are Cisco SPA 50x and Polycom VVX phones, both with current firmware. I feel like I'm missing something fundamental. Any hints, or directions to take diagnosis? Regards, Jeff

Stretch Buster update with current release fails to upgrade packages to buster release version
by Christoph Russow 20 Sep '19

Hi, just so you know when you have installed the current release version in debian stretch (1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~stretch-1~stretch+1) and run a dist-upgradeto buster the packages probably won't be upgraded to the buster pendant and you can not install additional packages cause of the following error. <code> freeswitch-mod-lua : depends on: libfreeswitch1 (= 1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1) but 1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~stretch-1~stretch+1 should be installed </code> this may be because stretch comes later in the alphabetical sortorder than buster (s after b) so apt thinks they are "newer" and keeps them. you can fix it by reinstalling all your freeswitch packages like this <code> # install by <packagename>=<busterversion> apt install freeswitch=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-commands=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-console=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-dialplan-xml=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-dptools=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-event-socket=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-expr=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-local-stream=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-logfile=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-native-file=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-shout=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-sndfile=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-sofia=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-spandsp=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-mod-tone-stream=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 freeswitch-systemd=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 libfreeswitch1=1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1 </code> this will "downgrade" the packages to buster versions of the same package. after the reinstallation the system does no longer know about the stretch versions and everything is up to date. maybe the dev-team wants to increase the release counter for the buster packages just to prevent apt from getting confused. bluetooth voice and sms
by John Tuxies 20 Sep '19

new to the area of Freeswitch. I would like to ask if it is possible to have a bluetooth adapter to make/receive calls/sms between the Android phone and Freeswitch please. i've searched a bit and i have found that it is the mod_gsmopen module, but i did not find how to make it work. i am working in Debian 10 x64bit PC and i have the bluetooth adapter on it. In order to install it i have done: *wget -O - https://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/fsstretch-archive-keyr… <https://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/fsstretch-archive-keyr…> | apt-key add -echo "deb http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/ <http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/> stretch main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/freeswitch.listecho "deb-src http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/ <http://files.freeswitch.org/repo/deb/freeswitch-1.8/> stretch main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/freeswitch.listapt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y && apt-get install -y freeswitch-meta-all* I did not find how to enable the mod_gsmopen and configure it.
