Re - British Telecom (BT) SIP test list before allowing a server on their IP Telephony network

To FreeSWITCH users, Re - British Telecom (BT) SIP test list before allowing a server on their IP Telephony network. I wondered if someone can take a quick look at this test case spreadsheet from BT in the UK to see if a standard FreeSWITCH installation (current production release) will cover off all these test cases. I assume the answer is yes! However I thought that I would ask in advance. Kind Regards, Andrew Keil

how to trigger a notify-msg to a certain phone?
by wiebittewas 02 Jun '15

02 Jun '15

hi. I'm new with freeswitch and have really searched the last days for an howto or working example, to send a notify-msg to a user, but haven't found anything working. so I'll try my luck here before trying to debug freeswitch-code (which may take a lot of time)... as I understand, the right way to create such msgs manually is by using the event-socket with the cmd sendevent. accessing localhost on port 8021 with netcat brings me to the point to enter header+body of such a msg, but even I get an OK from freeswitch and sees the created event on another connected netcat, freeswitch does not send anything to the requested destination. concrete situation is: freeswitch sits at 192.168.0.1 a user named 100(a)fs.priv is connected from a phone with the ip 192.168.0.10 and should get a msg for blf. (I haven't found really nothing about configuring blf in freeswitch, so I have to try it this way, when I'm able to send msgs, the I'll be able to control the blf) so I tried it in many ways like: sendevent NOTIFY event-string: check-sync;reboot=false user: u100 host: fs.priv content-type: application/simple-message-sumary to-uri: sip:u100@fs.priv from-uri: sip:u110@fs.priv with multiple variations (ip instead of hostname, ip of phone for host-header and also other event-headers a.s.o.), but there's really nothing send by freeswitch to network. using a event like: sendevent message_waiting MWI-Messages-Waiting: yes MWI-Message-Account: sip:100@fs.priv gets sent on to the network and triggers the msg-led on the phone, so I think that the way seems to be right. so, can anyone tell me, how I get the NOTIFY-event out of freeswitch on to the network? is the msg wrong? how should it be? do I have to trigger with another cmd, to send it or do I have to configure certain things in freeswitch to get it working? I'm using debian7 32bit with recent freeswitch from freeswitch.org-repository: FreeSWITCH version: 1.4.18-3-1~32bit (-3-1 32bit) thanks. w. P.S.: I don't always have mail-access these days, so if there're any additional information, which you need from me, it may take a bit, until I can give it.

DTLS ICE and WebRTC using Freeswitch 1.6
by Jon Lederman 01 Jun '15

01 Jun '15

Hi, We are having trouble getting WebRTC working with 1.6. I have tracked the problem down to the do_dtls function in switch_rtp.c (shown partially below). Two things we have noticed: 1) It appears that ice.ready and ice.ready are always 0. 2) DTLS negotiation never completes the handshake. Does ice have to be operative in order for dtls negotiation to proceed or the other way around? What should I look for, which may prevent the ice setup and/or dtls handshake. We are running on google cloud. Are there networking/NAT issues running on cloud servers that might interfere with either ICE or DTLS? Thanks in advance. -Jon static int do_dtls(switch_rtp_t *rtp_session, switch_dtls_t *dtls) { int r = 0, ret = 0, len; switch_size_t bytes; unsigned char buf[4096] = ""; int ready = rtp_session->ice.ice_user ? (rtp_session->ice.rready && rtp_session->ice.ready) : 1; if (!dtls->bytes && !ready) { //switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_SESSION_LOG(rtp_session->session), SWITCH_LOG_ALERT, "Ice not ready"); return 0; } …

New Post on freeswitch.org from Kathleen check it out at http://ift.tt/1HHnYmk FreeSWITCH Week in Review (Master Branch) May 23rd-May 30th Hello, again. This passed week in the FreeSWITCH master branch we had 648 commits! Most of those commits came from the merged 1.6 video branch and bring in a lot of new features. First and foremost, check out the new video functionality! The merge of 1.6 video branch means FreeSWITCH master now has the ability to transcode video and this means two different devices using different video codecs can use FreeSWITCH to translate between them. Some of the many other new features are the ability to live stream, record calls to a video file, and playback videos into a call with mod_av, overlaying logos or images with mod_cv, desktop sharing through mod_verto, and PDF and GIF rendered as video with mod_imagick. FreeSWITCH master also has MCU support for mod_conference! Join us on Wednesdays at 12:00 CT for some more FreeSWITCH fun! And head over to freeswitch.com to learn more about FreeSWITCH support. New features that were added: FS-7499 core RTCP improvements FS-7585 added video support to mod_rtmp FS-7500 core video transcoding support FS-7501 core video jitterbuffer FS-7502 core video media bugs FS-7503 core file interface video support FS-7504 codecs let you choose which codec module to use FS-7505 file interface to let you specify which format module to use when multiple types are supported FS-7506 core text rendering FS-7507 added new global directory variables and configure directory behavior changes FS-7508 mod_vpx transcoding vp8/vp9 and replace mod_v8 FS-7509 mod_verto improvements allow for desktop share with the installation of this chrome extension http://ift.tt/1kQP2pS and improved bandwith and resolution handling. FS-7512 mod_png allows for image overlays for video mute FS-7513 mod_conference MCU feature and avatar support FS-7514 mod_vlc video support FS-7515 mod_cv is a video media bug module that uses video recognition and facial recognition technology to allow you to modify a video stream by adding overlapping images and text or to silently detect and fire events FS-7516 mod_imagick allows for PDF and GIF rendered as video FS-7517 mod_openh264 h264 codec module FS-7519 mod_av a file format and codec module that uses libav or ffmpeg and allows you to live stream, record calls to a video file, and playback videos into a call. Rayo with mod_httapi does not handle invalid cache file
by eravelo 01 Jun '15

01 Jun '15

Hello all,With mod_httapi, sometimes an audio file fetched from an URL cannot be played, because for whatever reason, the file is said to "contain data in an unknown format". The problem is that mod_rayo raises an error and the call fails, rather than trying to re-fetch the file. Is this a bug in the way FreeSWITCH handles he audio file cache (mod_httapi) ? Version: 1.4.15 Here is the FreeSWITCH log snippet: -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/Rayo-with-mod-httapi-does-not… Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Need help with lua called from dial plan - How to delimit arguments?
by Jim Lynch 01 Jun '15

01 Jun '15

I have a line in my dialplan that looks like this: <action application="lua" data="cid.lua ${caller_id_name} ${caller_id_number}" /> However when the program is executed and the caller_id_name has a space in it, the number gets lost. I can't figure out a way to add delimiters that get passed to the shell. None of these work: <action application="lua" data="cid.lua \"${caller_id_name}\" \"${caller_id_number}\"" /> or <action application="lua" data="cid.lua ''${caller_id_name}'' ''${caller_id_number}''" /> or <action application="lua" data="cid.lua \"\"${caller_id_name}\"\" \"\"${caller_id_number}\"\"" /> None of those work. The quotes are all stripped off when running this test lua file: tmp_file = "/tmp/cidtest.txt"; local file = assert(io.open(tmp_file, "a")); local m_name=argv[1]; local m_number=argv[2]; file:write("j cid is ",m_name," number is ",m_number,"\n"); Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim.
