mod_skinny --> Calling numbers with various lenght
by MS-R-IT 08 Apr '14

Hello, the original Patter File 90_External say that a number dialed with a specified lenght of 10 digits have to be routed but in germany we have numbers from 3 to 15 digits when I made different pattern files for each length, the first pattern file who have a correct expression take the digits actually dialed not the others! So always the 3-digit expression will win! On http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-477 this is also decribed but no solution is presented! Only way I the today is, when I call a phone number I have to put the length at the beginning of that number an parse this number to get the correct pattern file. But this is worst! Hi Yuriy, As a disclaimer, I am one of the developers of CGRateS, so you can take my opinion about how alive the project is as subjective ;). You can find some "facts" about the liveness of the project from a more neutral entity by ohloh.net here: http://www.ohloh.net/p/cgrates Let me know if any particular questions arise (or if any issues found with the software). Thanks, DanB

Hello, for one of mi customers i have to set up some Cisco Phone with freeswitch, all works fine when the dialed number has a fixed lenght like as the demo files says dialstring lenght = 10 Digits but in Germany whe have differenz number lenghts and i don´t get it to work. When i say lenght is {3, 15} it always takes only 3 digits an process the call. The function skinny wait don´t use the param data="time in seconds" anyway. Can anyone help me to geht this running? Or is there no suitable workaround? Thanks for your help. new folders inside conf folders
by Thang Pham 08 Apr '14

Hi I am new to freeswitch, and is just now reading the book freeswitch 1.2. Files like 1000.xml or vars.xml used to stay inside "conf" folder. However on git latest master branch, inside "conf", I see folders curlinsideoutrayosbcsoftphonevanilla within each folder, there are files 1000.xml or vars.xmlm like "vanilla" and "insideout". Can anyone explain the new data structure here. What is insideout, vanilla or sbc in master please. Thank you

Hello, The Cisco Phone dials out every single digit an FS gets it. But then nothing would happen until the number hasn´t reached a defined length, when I define a lower length it will process the call when the defined length is reached also when this is not the full number. The Cisco phone dials all numbers But FS won´t fetch them. When I make a speeddial all works fine but speeddial only can be to the button defined number! Thanks for your help. Hi, Thank you, but since it will be really difficult to convince our provider to change their response, I'm trying to resolve the issue from our side. I've noticed that in the problematic servers this header: Authorization: Digest username="username", realm="sip.de.didlogic.net", nonce="U0DtvVNA7JFDwqn/iKN2y0i7jjJF/xDpK+45ZYA=", cnonce="tZUwATUmEjKDKHBU0sVf8A", algorithm=MD5, uri="sip:sip.de.didlogic.net;transport=udp", response="8aaadef8769d2234def69a699c53f95c", qop=auth, nc=0000018e is sent in the first REGISTER request, could this cause the issue? any ideas? why would freeswitch sometimes send this header in the first REGISTER request? is this related to the new version 1.2.23? is it configurable in freeswitch, when to add this header and when not? Thanks, Snabel /************************************************************************************************************** Working server Conferences and RFC4575 - signalling of "mute"
by Martyn Davies 08 Apr '14

08 Apr '14

I can see from the mod_conference source that the <media><status> element can only have the values of sendrecv or sendonly, depending on the HOLD state. Is it possible to get this modified to show "recvonly" for muted endpoints? This seems to be implied in the RFC. Best Regards, Martyn

Week in Review March 30th-April 5th
by Kathleen King 08 Apr '14

08 Apr '14

Hello, again. This week in the FreeSWITCH master branch we had 52 commits. We saw the addition of mod_basic to the FS languages to celebrate April Fool's day here in the US. Although it was added in the spirit of practical jokes, the addition of mod_basic highlights the extensive versatility of FS. There was a continued drive toward improving build support for platforms such as BSD and Mac and mixed into this build work are large changes in functionally, such as ticket FS-353 leading the push toward converting the build system to prefer system versions of libraries, when compatible, over their in tree counterparts. The following bugs were squashed: 19e3175 FS-6422: --resolve fixed a copy and paste error breaking socket_tcp_keepalive in mod_sofia Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6422 7532a7e FS-6310 fixed bug with orphaned calls in the show calls command Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6310 c02a5e6 fix for CSeq not being shared between FS boxes with ODBC backend in mod_sofia Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6413 9b56dff Say zero in time measurement only if it is neccessary in mod_say_hu Improvements in cross platform build supports: ab5ebd3 FS-6430: try to fix print_git_revision when running from builddir not inside src root Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6430 fb7fa3d update gitignore 5e90a5a FS-6430: fix running of print_git_revision from builddir not in src tree Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6430 0cc3a17 FS-6408: fix passing of CPPFLAGS to spandsp build Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6408 4bdef6e Fix detection of libedit on BSD In terms of stability these were the use cases that were fixed: 287fd66 FS-6403 reverts commits 62ce8538974f727778f1024d0ef9549e438704fe and 3a85348cdfd0fd7df63a2a150790722c2d294b36 and fixed a segfault caused by a race issue in switch_xml Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6403 7151d6a fixed a segfault in hashtable Jira: http://jira.freeswitch.org/browse/FS-6402 6681176 prevent a segfault in mod_basic if someone calls basic from CLI w/ no args 77056e3 fix seg in alias del in switch_console Feedback is welcome at kathleen.king(a)quentustech.com and the commits for this week are in the attached file along with the corresponding Jira links. -- Kathleen King Quentus Technologies, INC 1037 NE 65th St Suite 273 Seattle, WA 98115 Main: (877) 211-9337 Cell: (703) 859-3757 kathleen.king(a)quentustech.com

How to force a call to transfer?
by Peter Hillier 08 Apr '14

08 Apr '14

Hi folks, I have a call between user A and user B. B blind-transfers the call to C and the call is answered. Now user B (who is suddenly feeling left out) wants to take the call back again from C (so A and B are back in a call together, C is discarded). Can I do this in Freeswitch? I've read about "Deflect" but I can't picture the description (included below) into a call flow: Deflect sends a Refer to the client. The deflect application allows FreeSWITCH to be removed from the list of connection hops and tell the originator to reroute the call. When using the deflect application, FreeSWITCH first hangs up the channel and then send a REFER message and a new INVITE message to the originator. The originator, which could be a gateway or sip proxy, should read the INVITE and reroute the call accordingly. Is what I am asking possible? What would a sample dial plan entry look like? What if A is an external caller (not a local extension)? Thanks, Peter
