FreeSwith does not setup secure call with leg B.
by Chandrakant Marathe 05 Oct '14

Hi All, I have setup FreeSwith PBX. I am facing an issue of not having end to end secure call. Caller sends INVITE request with SIPS in request URI and RTP/SAVP in SDP. But when FreeSwith forwards the request to caller, it is not using RTP/SAVP in SDP. I have followed the steps mentioned in WIKI ( https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/SIP_TLS#Configuration) for TLS configuration and marked "exports sip_secure_media" true in "conf/dialplan/default.xml" file (as per https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/SRTP) But still FreeSwitch does not use RTP/SAVP for leg-B. Also, I am bit confused with following condition in "default.xml" when wiki page suggests that late coded negotiation must NOT to be turned on. <condition field="${endpoint_disposition}" expression="^(DELAYED NEGOTIATION)"/> <condition field="${switch_r_sdp}" expression="(AES_CM_128_HMAC_SHA1_32|AES_CM_128_HMAC_SHA1_80)" break="never"> <action application="set" data="sip_secure_media=true"/> <action application="export" data="sip_secure_media=true"/> </condition> By commenting/un-commenting "sip_secure_media=true" above, it did not worked. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. -- Thanks CWM

mod_lua
by Борисов, Дмитрий 04 Oct '14

I found some intrsting thing, maybe bug. I instruct mod_lua to seek for scripts in $${script_dir}/lua: # cat lua.conf.xml <configuration name="lua.conf" description="LUA Configuration"> <settings> <param name="module-directory" value="/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/?.so"/> <param name="module-directory" value="/usr/local/lib/?.so"/> <param name="script-directory" value="$${script_dir}/lua/?.lua"/> <param name="xml-handler-script" value="gen_dir_user_xml.lua"/> <param name="xml-handler-bindings" value="directory"/> </settings> </configuration> But in loading process i got next error message in logfile: freeswitch.log: 2014-10-03 17:02:05.683593 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:203 cannot open /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/gen_dir_user_xml.lua: No such file or directory 2014-10-03 17:02:05.683599 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:269 LUA script parse/execute error! 2014-10-03 17:02:05.683901 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:203 cannot open /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/gen_dir_user_xml.lua: No such file or directory 2014-10-03 17:02:05.683910 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:269 LUA script parse/execute error! 2014-10-03 17:02:05.684191 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:203 cannot open /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/gen_dir_user_xml.lua: No such file or directory 2014-10-03 17:02:05.684196 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:269 LUA script parse/execute error! I put my lua scripts in right place (as described in config): # ls -la /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/lua/gen_dir_user_xml.lua -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1708 3 окт 16:17 /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/lua/gen_dir_user_xml.lua But FS seek for it in $${script_dir} place, where no my script: # ls -la /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/gen_dir_user_xml.lua ls: /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/gen_dir_user_xml.lua: No such file or directory When my FF starts, it evals path from config right: freeswitch(a)voip-bsd-01.local> eval $${script_dir}/lua/ /usr/local/share/freeswitch/scripts/lua/ I can solve this problem simply by putting script to $${script_dir} (I tried, it works), but after that i loose possibility to sort my scripts. Any thinks about? -- Best regards, Борисов Дмитрий

Voicemail Web Interface
by Jerry Allen 04 Oct '14

04 Oct '14

Exploring the voicemail mod using the html interface the http headers are not sent correctly by FS or IE, Firefox and Chrome are messed up? My goal is to use this interface combined with mod_proxy in apache to "protect" the FS machine for a _very_ simple interface into the voicemail system. All the web pages from the html interface built into FS for voicemail are tagged at the top with "Content-type: text/html" without quotes. All voicemail messages are tagged with "Content-type: audio/mpeg Content-length: XXXX" without quotes. Mp3 files can be right click saved but display binary source/junk in thebrowser window if accessed directly. Any clues as to why the header lines are not being accepted by the browsers? Jerry Allen

whitepages.com
by Steven Schoch 03 Oct '14

03 Oct '14

I had been using whitepages.com through the mod_cidlookup API, but it seems to be not working anymore. Browsing through the whitepages.com web site, I can't find any support for their old 1.0 API. They used to offer API access free for a limited number of lookups, but now they only mention their PRO API (version 2.0) that has a free trial period, but then has a monthly subscription. I'm already subscribed to opencnam.com, and Flowroute is also giving me CNAM on incoming calls, so I don't think I need a 3rd. The reason I was keeping whitepages.com is that they seemed to have nicer looking names than opencnam.com (mixed case, etc.) Is any one else using the free version of whitepages.com? -- Steve

continue_on_fail vs fail_on_single_reject
by Andre 03 Oct '14

03 Oct '14

Hi, Can someone tell me when I should be using fail_on_single_reject over continue_on_fail? Let's say I have 2 bridges and if the call is busy I just want to hang up the code below should be correct? <action application="set" data="continue_on_fail=NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE"/> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/test-int/3910(a)10.3.3.104"/> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/test-int/3920(a)10.3.3.104"/> Now let's say the code looks like this Would I use <action application="set" data="continue_on_fail=NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE"/> or <action application="set" data="fail_on_single_reject=USER_BUSY"/> <action application="bridge" data="{fail_on_single_reject=USER_BUSY}sofia/test-int/3920(a)10.3.3.104| sofia/test-int/3920(a)10.3.3.104"/> Or <action application="bridge" data="{ continue_on_fail=NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE }sofia/test-int/3920(a)10.3.3.104| sofia/test-int/3920(a)10.3.3.104"/> Understanding that NORMAL_TEMPORARY_FAILURE it not totally like USER_Busy but just trying to understand when to use what. Thanks Andre

FS + MongoDB
by Massimo Varriale 03 Oct '14

03 Oct '14

Hi All! I have a rock solid 1.4 Freeswitch installation for which I decided to save CDRs directly into a MongoDB "database" (2.6). What I found is that sometimes some CDRs are not written to the DB and I do not have any alert log...scary! How did I found that some CDRs are not written? Because I was making some test calls tracing with Wireshark and later on I was checking those CDRs into the MongoDB database...but no CDRs found for 2 calls on my tests...again scary! I've read some documentation regarding the Mongo way to ACK and notify the client making insert about succesful/failed insert (in this case Mod_cdr_mongodb), but is there a way for having the Mod_cdr_mongodb to log failed insert into a text file so I can check/insert them later? For example something like that: # cat mongo.failed.log db.cdr.insert([{ _id: 20, sip_call_id: "b3fc6282-c584-1232-5b8e-782bcb67544e", billsec: 50, duration: 65 ............................. },], { ordered: true }) For a failed log like this I can simply run a batch script to import failed insert. At the moment I found that other methods for writing CDRs give less informations (CDR_CSV) or much back work to process CDRs (CURL or XML) Thank you Max

building debian packages 1.5.x
by Leo Noordergraaf 03 Oct '14

03 Oct '14

Hi, I use the command: debian/util.sh build-all -m non-dfsg -a amd64 -c wheezy -i -j -n -z 9 as per debian/README.source but that doesn't build the mod-sangoma-codec package. So I used: debian/util.sh build-all -a amd64 -c wheezy -ibnj -z9 -f ../modules.conf where modules.conf contains the list of packages I want to include. I've tried several different combinations of options but non of those create any .deb files at all. All I get are the files: -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 5652480 Oct 1 13:31 freeswitch_1.5.14b+git~20141001T113052Z~310f18982f.orig.tar.xz -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 49816 Oct 1 13:41 freeswitch_1.5.14b+git~20141001T113428Z~310f18982f-1~wheezy+1.debian.tar.xz -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 9880 Oct 1 13:41 freeswitch_1.5.14b+git~20141001T113428Z~310f18982f-1~wheezy+1.dsc -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 11847 Oct 1 13:41 freeswitch_1.5.14b+git~20141001T113428Z~310f18982f-1~wheezy+1_source.changes -rw-r--r-- 1 root staff 85060824 Oct 1 13:41 freeswitch_1.5.14b+git~20141001T113428Z~310f18982f.orig.tar.xz So, what am I doing wrong? I just cloned the repository and called debian/util.sh without setting up a pbuilder environment. Is this the proper procedure? Also, since I'm building/packaging on wheezy exclusively for deployment on wheezy, I don't really need this pbuilder stuff. Can I do without and if so how? It is really slow. Leo

Video conferencing with Bria 4 for Windows
by Stanislav Sinyagin 02 Oct '14

02 Oct '14

I found out that Bria 4 for Windows ignores the SIP INFO with picture_fast_update, answering with 500 error. As a result, in a video conference, when active floor holder switches to a Bria user, everyone sees garbage. Tested with both VP8 and H264 codecs. Bria for Android accepts the INFO and refreshes the picture properly. I also opened a topic on their support forum: https://support.counterpath.com/responses/bria-4-ignores-sip-info-with-pict… Any tips, ideas, suggestions to make the conferencing work under Windows? thanks, stanislav

Caller ID
by Blake Priddy 02 Oct '14

02 Oct '14

So could someone point me in the right direction on the term I need to look for. Here is the scenario, I have 2 extensions (not really, way more) when I call the other extension lets say 1001 I want it to show the caller ID on my screen that shows when they call me. When they call me it shows their name and extension. But when the caller calls the callee it only shows what you dialed which is the extension. I want it to some how pull its effective CID when calling extensions within the phone system. Attached are some screen shots for reference. Receiving Calls Dialing Extensions Thanks! -- *Blakelund Priddy* Network & Systems Engineer Bryant Public School District Bryant, Arkansas 72022 http://www.bryantschools.org p 501-653-5038 f 501-847-5656
