Build script for Ubuntu 12.04 or Debian
by Richard Mace 30 Jul '13

30 Jul '13

Hi, Could anyone point me in the direction of a build script that will install freeSWITCH on either Debian or Ubuntu 12.04 please? I've tried the current script found on the wiki, but it is not working saying freeswitch-sounds-callie is not available? Thanks in advance. Richard

FreeSWITCH Weekly News and Notes
by Michael Collins 30 Jul '13

30 Jul '13

Welcome to the last week of July! The big news from last week was announced on the weekly conference call<https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_07_24>: FreeSWITCH 1.2.12 was officially released<http://www.freeswitch.org/node/458>. This is now the recommended production release of FreeSWITCH. We also had a simple FreeSWITCH programming how-to on using channel variables with examples from mod_valet_parking<http://fisheye.freeswitch.org/changelog/freeswitch.git?cs=01d45ae506f50cdef…>and mod_voicemail<http://fisheye.freeswitch.org/changelog/freeswitch.git/?cs=13de330> . On this week's conference call<https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/FS_weekly_2013_07_31>we are glad to have with us long-time FreeSWITCH community member and code contributor Chris Rienzo. Chris has lots of experience with handling media for various applications, such as you'd use with mod_unimrcp<https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_unimrcp>. This week Chris will be discussing the theme "mod_spandsp - it's not just for faxing!" Mod_spandsp <https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_spandsp>makes use of the powerful SpanDSP library <http://www.soft-switch.org/> and Chris will show us some of the interesting things that this makes available for FreeSWITCH users. For those of you coming to ClueCon 2013 <http://www.cluecon.com>: we'll see you next week! We are really looking forward to seeing everyone again. If you haven't registered for ClueCon or booked your room yet then we highly recommend that you do so right away. We hope to see you all at the can't-miss event of the season! Talk to you next week - from Chicago! -- Michael S Collins Twitter: @mercutioviz http://www.FreeSWITCH.org http://www.ClueCon.com http://www.OSTAG.org

Invalid Application set
by Ei Dev 29 Jul '13

29 Jul '13

I'm hoping to get some pointers on debugging why I'm getting a "Invalid Application set" error message. I have read the FAQ which says that the most common reason is the correct module hasn't been loaded. However, in this case, there is no module called "set", so what could some of the other causes be? Here's the debug output if it helps: 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:167 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) State Change CS_ROUTING -> CS_EXECUTE 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1333 Send signal sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19 [BREAK] 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:470 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) State ROUTING going to sleep 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:415 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) Running State Change CS_EXECUTE 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:477 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) State EXECUTE 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:243 sofia/internal/ 1009(a)10.1.1.19 SOFIA EXECUTE 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:209 sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19 Standard EXECUTE 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [ERR] switch_core_session.c:2547 Invalid Application set 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [NOTICE] switch_core_session.c:2548 Hangup sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19 [CS_EXECUTE] [DESTINATION_OUT_OF_ORDER] 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:3096 Send signal sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19 [KILL] 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1333 Send signal sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19 [BREAK] 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:477 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) State EXECUTE going to sleep 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:415 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) Running State Change CS_HANGUP 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:676 (sofia/internal/1009(a)10.1.1.19) State HANGUP 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:504 Channel sofia/internal/ 1009(a)10.1.1.19 hanging up, cause: DESTINATION_OUT_OF_ORDER 2013-07-29 13:41:17.208965 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:638 Responding to INVITE with: 502

Comfort Noise In Freeswitch Conference (CNG)
by Jon Lederman 29 Jul '13

29 Jul '13

Hi, I am trying to know whether comfort noise is in fact generated by default when using mod_conference. If so, I would like to know how to completely disable comfort noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -Jon

Can Freeswitch act as a media gateway for encrypted and unencrypted media traffic?
by Ei Dev 29 Jul '13

29 Jul '13

My scenario is the following: External clients register to a Kamailio server (doesn't have to be Kamailio, just what I'm using in my test environment) via TLS and calls between external clients are via SRTP. There is another internal Kamailio server where users register via standard SIP and media over RTP. Can Freeswitch act as a gateway for calls between internal and external clients and vice versa, where the SRTP stream is initiated/terminated (depending on the call direction) on the Freeswitch server? Thanks.

Can I tune VAD to detect all sounds above a certain level?
by D D 29 Jul '13

29 Jul '13

Hi, I read about VAD in the wiki, and know that it may not be appropriate for detecting things like loud music. Is there some other method for getting sound level events on a call? Can I tune the VAD? Thanks, David

503 / End of file (PJ_EEOF) Error message
by Burak BorYazılım 29 Jul '13

29 Jul '13

Hello, I am using freeswitch version 1.3.13b as a voip server and csipsimple as a sip client. Also using TLS and SRTP for security issues. When making call I got "503 / End of file (PJ_EEOF)" error many times. I thought that I have problem with some timeouts. Because when I try to call someone, the first try %80 fails, second one (but immediate ones after the first one) %80 successes. But if I wait for 15-30 seconds at least, I got this error again. I also out the logs : http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21246 Thank you, regards...
