Secure B-Leg from PSTN call - how to?
by Peter Waldheim 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

Hi, I'm trying to secure (SRTP) the b-leg for a call coming in via pstn (pri/freetdm). For this I'm setting sip_secure_media and also trying sdp_secure_savp_only, but it seems freeswitch does not offer SAVP to my client (which in turn will refuse). SIP-to-SIP this works fine. Here the the portion of the log where I would have expected to see SAVP in the sdp: EXECUTE FreeTDM/1:5/21 bridge(sofia/external5090/21%10.1.1.12) 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:1176 FreeTDM/1:5/21 EXPORTING[export_vars] [sip_secure_media]=[true] to event 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:1176 FreeTDM/1:5/21 EXPORTING[export_vars] [dialed_extension]=[21] to event 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:1176 FreeTDM/1:5/21 EXPORTING[export_vars] [sip_secure_media]=[true] to event 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:1176 FreeTDM/1:5/21 EXPORTING[export_vars] [sdp_secure_savp_only]=[true] to event 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_ivr_originate.c:2050 Parsing global variables 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:1030 New Channel sofia/external5090/21 [2b0bff7e-dfc3-11e2-b111-c96542f7174a] 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:4420 (sofia/external5090/21) State Change CS_NEW -> CS_INIT 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1341 Send signal sofia/external5090/21 [BREAK] 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:416 (sofia/external5090/21) Running State Change CS_INIT 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:455 (sofia/external5090/21) State INIT 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:87 sofia/external5090/21 SOFIA INIT 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] sofia_glue.c:1191 sip:21@client.ip.is.secret:49915;rinstance=e177370cb4131e9f;transport=tls Setting proxy route to sofia/external5090/21 2013-06-28 09:20:10.800816 [DEBUG] sofia_glue.c:1220 Local SDP: v=0 o=FreeSWITCH 1372384350 1372384351 IN IP4 my.ip.is.secret s=FreeSWITCH c=IN IP4 my.ip.is.secret t=0 0 m=audio 19660 RTP/AVP 8 3 101 13 a=rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000 a=fmtp:101 0-16 a=ptime:20 a=sendrecv m=video 20590 RTP/AVP 34 98 a=rtpmap:34 H263/90000 a=rtpmap:98 H264/90000 Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Intermittent 'NORMAL_UNSPECIFIED' errors when originating a call throug a gateway
by Rafal Gwizdala 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

Hi, I'm trying to originate a call to an external endpoint (a mobile phone) through a gateway (freeconet.pl) service and I'm getting intermittent 'NORMAL_UNSPECIFIED' errors. The command will randomly succeed or fail with the following result. originate {call_timeout=60,origination_uuid=d399361f-56a1-4c7c-acd8-447a6e1ea742}sofia/gateway/freeconet/602415455 6668 Event: FAILURE, Body: -ERR NORMAL_UNSPECIFIED The destination extension (6668) is an IVR service based on mod_httapi, but I don't think this is related to my application as there are no httapi calls made. The 'freeconet' gateway is REGED. Corresponding freeswitch log is below. Can you please help me figure out what's going on? Attended transfer failure - sip trace attached - please help
by Garey Arrington 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

I am having an issue with attended transfers failing, it seems that the server is trying to send the invite after the REFER to itself. Almost as if it is resolving the registration/location domain (a.domain1.com in this case) and sending the invite to that IP. SIP trace available here: http://pastebin.com/dyvYpZNc I have googled this and found several others having this issue in the past but no resolution was posted afterwards. Please help. :)

Activate in sofia: enable-100rel
by Antonio Silva 03 Jul '13

Hi, I wanted to enable the parameter in sofia profiles "enable-100rel" but in the wiki there is a warning that might crash fs. wiki: "Enabling this may cause FreeSWITCH to crash, see FSCORE-392. " This message is quite old.. so my question, is it safe now to enable this option? Thanks, António

Video codec transcoding
by alberto Villa 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

Hello, I'm trying to setup a simple video call between two voip phones. VoIP phone A (pjsip VoIP phone) uses H263-1998 video codec, VoIP phone B (3cx VoIP phone) uses H263 video codec. The audio call is properly set up but the video stream isn't understood by the two voip phone, probably because the two VoIP phone do not understand each other. In a default installation, is FS supposed to do any codec transcoding? thanks to everyone -- Dr. Villa Alberto Sw Engineer SeleTech srl via Collodi, 8 20052 Monza (MI) tel: +39 039 5962000 fax: +39 039 9716905 email: a.villa(a)seletech.com web: www.seletech.com www.seletech.eu

Originating a call, caller/destination confusion
by Rafal Gwizdala 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

Apart from the previous 'originate' problem I have another question related to same scenario: I'm calling a mobile phone through a 'freeconet.pl' gateway and i'm connecting this call to local 6668 extension which is an mod_httapi IVR service: originate {call_timeout=60,origination_uuid=a32f6358-cce8-423d-8938-6325e57ba992}sofia/gateway/freeconet/48602415455 6668 When this succeeds mod_httapi makes a request to my application with parameters listed below. But I'm wondering why my destination number is reported as the caller id? Caller-Direction=outbound Caller-Caller-ID-Name=Outbound Call Caller-Caller-ID-Number=48602415455 Caller-Destination-Number=6668 It looks like 48602415455 called the 6668 extension, but why? The situation is quite opposite, 48602415455 is the destination number. Is this the expected behavior, or maybe I should use a different method of initiating this call? external calls auth
by Vincent Xia 03 Jul '13

call from an unregistered UA through port:5080 cannot get through and reach a regitered UA, e.g. 123456789 calls 1001, only by uncomment <param name="accept-blind-reg" value="true"/> <param name="accept-blind-auth" value="true"/> in interal.xml in sip_sofia, can i make the external call connect. but isn't port 5080 auth free? should i make some modification in external.xml?

"bridge" command return on answered state, previously when call hung up
by BNML 03 Jul '13

03 Jul '13

Hi all, The "bridge" command executed from a python script was previously returning after the call had hung up. After upgrading, the bridge command will return once "answered" state is reached. This is creating me a trouble as I need (from the python script) to wait for the end of the call. Has this new behaviour any parameters to tune ? Do I need to open a jira on that ? Thanks you, BNML
