Hello, I suddenly started getting the following messages on my console. It is occupying resources and FS threw an exception and stopped accepting calls. Could you please guide me how to stop these? The only thing I use FS for is accept calls on a toll-free number and transfer it to an extension which has managed module running on it. curl cert question
by Seven Du 13 Dec '13

13 Dec '13

Hi, When I tried mod_httapi which using libcurl and I successfully made https work, but has a few questions: 1) Why a private key is needed since when you use a browser to https doesn't need a private key in the client side? 2) Even if both private and pub key is needed, shouldn't it matches what on the server? I tried with nginx and set totally different key pairs and it still seems work. Thanks. -- Seven Du http://www.freeswitch.org.cn http://about.me/dujinfang http://www.dujinfang.com Sent with Sparrow (http://www.sparrowmailapp.com/?sig)

chrome sipml5 cant receive bye
by Jimmy Chang 13 Dec '13

13 Dec '13

Hi, I'm using FreeSWITCH Version 1.5.8b+git~20131205T011809Z~4a2054a951~64bit. Here are what I set 1) configure --with-openssl 2) uncomment for sip over websocket support (port 5066) The caller and callee were all Chrome sipml5 clients and the audio and video were all fine. The problem was that when caller or callee hangup the video call, the other side couldn't get BYE signal. Here is the freeswitch log, http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21739 and here is the Chrome console log. http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/21740 Any advice would be appreciated. Jimmy

One way audio problem while using FreeTDM
by Siri MM 13 Dec '13

13 Dec '13

Hi, In one of the client servers, an old version of FreeSWITCH(FreeSWITCH Version 1.0.head) and a fairly new version of FreeTDM(wanpipe-3.5.28) is being used. Recently a new problem is being observed, where when an incoming call via Sangoma E1 card is redirected to a ring group which rings 3 internal SNOM extensions, and the call is answered on one of them, audio is heard by the caller, but nothing is heard on the callee end. I have captrued the network trace, and I see that there is exchange of RTP packets between the ports specified in the SIP trace (as well as the AUDIO RTP log of freeswitch) Any pointers on how to debug this issue further? Thanks!

Latest FreeSWITCH pull and Lua
by James Mortensen 13 Dec '13

13 Dec '13

Hello, I just ran git pull and rebuilt FreeSWITCH, and now Lua is unable to locate the LuaXml library. module 'LuaXml' not found: no field package.preload['LuaXml'] no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.2/LuaXml.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.2/loadall.so' no file './LuaXml.so' and another: module 'LuaXml' not found: no field package.preload['LuaXml'] no file './LuaXml.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/LuaXml.so' no file '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/lua/5.1/LuaXml.so' no file '/usr/lib/lua/5.1/LuaXml.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/loadall.so' Note that in /usr/local/lib/lua/5.1 there is a LuaXML_lib.so, but no LuaXml.so. Those are example of one of the many error messages the system has been spitting out at me. Tt's complaining about not finding a LuaXml.so despite none actually existing on the box and despite following the instructions in the wiki. I already followed the instructions in http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_lua for installing LuaXml via the luarocks package manager, so since that didn't work I tried including the library manually from the luaxml website. Although the lua on the box can run the test.lua script successfully, I am not having luck in FreeSWITCH. I also tried recompiling from scratch running the bootstrap and configure scripts. No luck. I've also tried installing both Lua 5.1 and Lua 5.2. I realize the wiki shows 5.1 being used, but I already tried that and moved onto trying other things. Still working on trying to figure out what happened, but wanted to see if anyone else is having any trouble with this as well. I realize Lua is embedded in FreeSWITCH, so I'm a bit confused about why it can't find the library. Using lua 5.2 on the box, I can run the test.lua script that users the library, what version of Lua does FreeSWITCH use? I'm not convinced it's using an embedded version of Lua based on the fact that I see it trying to use the paths from the Lua installed from apt-get. James

Dear. I need you help, i have my FS box with a Public IP address. And when i registered users of the directory this to do a call the call is routed to Public context and not default context like say of user config on ~/directory/default/1000.xml But when i change the IP address of FS to a local network like 192.168.1.1 the calls are routed to default context. And my other issue is that the variables channels of user 1000.xml like accountcode is not available when FS have a Public IP address. I hope you could help me in order to know what i doing wrong. Equipment Location Survey
by Sean P Devoy 12 Dec '13

12 Dec '13

Hi All, I have had a moment of clarity and I think I need to rethink my business strategy with regard to FS for SMALL Businesses (less than 5 DIDs and 5 phones/extensions). To date I have attempted to HOST the customers phone services on a multitenant FS box "in a bunker". This has led to many setbacks due to NAT issues on the CLIENT end with different router and phone hardware. Perhaps I have a self-imposed problem that could be easily rectified. My strategy has been to be sure the switch is always reachable and route to alternate phones or voicemail if the client site is unreachable. I had thought this would provide for the highest availability of inbound call handling. I now think installing a FS PC onsite maybe be far simpler provided that the VOIP provider can handle routing to a failover switch. So I am considering changing from: <FS> -- public IP -- <internet> -- <NAT Router> -- Nat'ed client phones to: <internet> -- <NAT Router> -- Nat'ed FS -- local lan - non-nat phones I am looking for folks to talk about this configuration with FS NATed/Port Forwarded or FS dual home IP with a public IP and a nat ip. Many small businesses can't provide a public IP. In fact most will occasionally have their public IP change without notice. Clearly the VOIP provider will have to be updated with the new address. Is there a slick way to handle that problem? How well has this configuration worked for other people? Thanks, Sean --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Set custom SIP header in ESL Outbound
by Alex Balashov 12 Dec '13

12 Dec '13

Another newbie question, if I may: (I realise this may be more of a modesl/node-esl question than an ESL question per se.) I'm using node-esl/modesl for ESL outbound actions, and can't figure out how to get it to append a custom SIP header on the B leg. Were it the case that the 'set' formula were the same as with most conventional variables, set via a 'params' tag attribute, it'd be easy: conn.execute('set', 'foo=bar'); However, in the case of the ${sip_h...} container, this is specified as the body value of the <action> tag, not a 'params' attribute. Example per http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Sofia-SIP#Adding_Custom_Headers: <action application="set"><![CDATA[sip_h_P-Charge-Info=<sip:${caller_id_number}@${domain_name}>;npi=0;noa=3]]></action> I can't quite figure out how to get the API to mimic this effect. The second argument to the execute() method appears to get turned into tag attributes only. From https://github.com/englercj/node-esl/blob/master/lib/esl/connection.js: Connection.prototype.execute = function(app, arg, uuid, cb) { ... opts['execute-app-name'] = app; opts['execute-app-arg'] = arg; ... Am I just SOL on that one? I suppose one option is to run the call through a loopback endpoint that takes care of the header-setting in dialplan XML, but, as the aim is to build a thoroughly API-controlled environment, I'd rather avoid that kludge if I can help it. Any insights appreciated! -- Alex -- Alex Balashov - Principal Evariste Systems LLC 235 E Ponce de Leon Ave Suite 106 Decatur, GA 30030 United States Tel: +1-678-954-0670 Web: http://www.evaristesys.com/, http://www.alexbalashov.com/
