persistant registration
by Madovsky 04 Oct '11

04 Oct '11

Hi all, sometimes sip registration stays persistant, even if the phone is not connected anymore. I can see this line in sofia status profile Status: Registered(UDP)(unknown) EXP(2011-10-04 09:38:40) EXPSECS(-14152) as you can see the expsecs is far under 0. any idea ? Thanks

Dear All, I am new to FreeSwitch and I have installed the old version 1.0.6 on CentOS-5.5 32 Bit >From wiki I read that to install the latest version of freeswitch should use GIT. Kamailio and FreeSwitch. Too many hops problem.
by Henrik Aagaard Sørensen 04 Oct '11

04 Oct '11

I'm facing a problem with my current setup. Currently I have a Kamailio server as dispatcher. It doesn't do anything to the SIP packets except forwarding them. FreeSwitch is receiving SIP packages from Kamailio, as Kamailio as setup as a trunk to FreeSwitch. I have some devices with attached numbers, they are external numbers. When I call in to the voicemail, to hear hold music etc. everything works. But when I'm trying to call other devices I get the error "Too Many Hops". Can anyone help me figure out the problem?

FreeSWITCH Voicemail - silence detection
by Lloyd Aloysius 03 Oct '11

03 Oct '11

Hello, I have the voicemail issue. When someone soft spoken leaves a message they get interrupted by the silence detection. “to play this message press 1, to send this message press 2, to delete this message and try again …” I found two options in voicemail.conf. None of them make any difference. <param name="record-silence-threshold" value="200"/> <param name="record-silence-hits" value="2"/> Is there anyway to increase the threshold or time out. FreeSWITCH Version 1.0.head (git-0675b59 2011-06-06 21-28-14 -0500) Thanks in advance. Lloyd

Interaction between event handler and streamfile (avmd specifically)
by Jason Moran 03 Oct '11

03 Oct '11

In short, I'm looking to stream a message twice unless a voicemail beeps. If the voicemail beeps, then start over immediately and only play the message once. Pseudo-code: session.execute("avmd", "start"); session.streamFile(playbackFileName); //1st play session.streamFile(playbackFileName); //2nd play session.execute("hangup","ORIGINATOR_CANCEL"); function onDTMF(s, type, obj, arg) { if(type == "event" && session.getVariable("avmd_detect") == "TRUE") { session.execute("avmd", "stop"); session.streamFile(playbackFileName); return false; } return true; } My question is what the effect and timing is of returning false or true from the onDTMF function? Does the original streamFile continue playing? Pause? end immediately? Do I have to set a variable, return false to stop the original from playing, then do my streamfile logic OUTSIDE of the onDTMF for proper flow? What happens if I never return true or false, what does it do then? Thanks, Jason

DTMF Problem with T-Mobile carrier
by Phil Kim 03 Oct '11

03 Oct '11

Hello everybody, I really need some help here! I'm trying to use FS for making both inbound and outbound calls through Broadvox. Everything works perfectly except one particular situation with DTMF problem. In case of inbound calling (I'm calling FS), everything works fine. Call connects and I can send DTMF to FS and FS recognized those 100% (Testing with softphone from my desktop, SIP phone in the office, and all wireless carriers) However, I am having trouble with outbound calling. I have set it up to where FS makes an outbound call to certain number and once the call is answered, we start playing some custom IVR. Here, it works fine with softphone from my desktop, SIP phones in the office, AT&T, and Verizon. But for some reason FS will not recognize the DTMF coming from T-Mobile cell phones. Anyone has any idea? Below are my current setting from external.xml which was recommended by Broadvox. <param name="codec-prefs" value="PCMU,G729"/> <param name="dtmf-type" value="rfc2833"/> <param name="auto-rtp-bugs" value="clear"/> <param name="pass-rfc2833" value="true"/> <param name="inbound-late-negotiation" value="true"/> <param name="sip-trace" value="no"/> <param name="sip-capture" value="no"/> <param name="rfc2833-pt" value="101"/> <param name="sip-port" value="$${external_sip_port}"/> <param name="dialplan" value="XML"/> <param name="context" value="public"/> <param name="dtmf-duration" value="1000"/> <param name="inbound-codec-prefs" value="$${global_codec_prefs}"/> <param name="outbound-codec-prefs" value="$${outbound_codec_prefs}"/> <param name="hold-music" value="$${hold_music}"/> <param name="rtp-timer-name" value="soft"/> Best regards, Phil Kim The information contained in this e-mail message, and any attachment thereto, is the property of Valiant and is confidential and may not be disclosed without our express permission. FreeSwitch fails with Kamailio Dispatcher in front.
by Henrik Aagaard Sørensen 02 Oct '11

02 Oct '11

I've setup a Freeswitch which works when connecting devices directly to it. But with a Kamailio Dispatcher setup in front, it fails. It reports the error: 2011-09-30 08:47:04.309900 [ERR] sofia_reg.c:2136 Cannot locate any authentication credentials to complete an authentication request for realm '"10.0.1.7"' I've setup tshark on FreeSwitch now to analyze the input from both scenarios. When connected directly to FreeSwitch, which works, this is my INVITE: http://pastebin.com/p4CZJJz3 This is how the INVITE looks when it fails via Kamailio: http://pastebin.com/9AFEsuVs Can anyone help my out?
