Voicemail refresh event
by Tim St. Pierre 13 Oct '10

13 Oct '10

Hello, I'm using ODBC with voicemail, and several other core functions. My ultimate goal is to use this in an HA cluster, but there are also some places where this data gets looked at outside of Freeswitch. I'm building a visual voicemail application for Aastra phones using the XML interface. I can query the freeswitch database to see the voicemail_prefs and voicemail_msgs tables, listing each message, paths to audio, etc. Whenever I modify this data, Freeswitch eventually notices and updates the MWI indicator on the phone to match what's in the database. Is there a way to send an event to Freeswitch that will cause it to poll the database and refresh the status of a voice mail box? Is it a bad idea to manipulate this data outside of freeswitch? I don't think I'm doing anything that wouldn't take place if the alternate FS box changed this data in an HA situation. Thanks! -Tim

german prompts - first release
by Christian Löschenkohl 08 Oct '10

08 Oct '10

hello freeswitch community i can now announce the first release of the german prompt set. you can download it under http://freeswitch.xpirio.com/. this package is not useable at this time, because there are some xml files that need to be created or changed first. also the prompts are not 100% perfect and complete. i'll work on these topics and keep you updated. if somebody wants to help, please take a look at the prompts an send me your corrections (directly to my e-mail address, not to the list please). also look at the file de2.xls where you can find the prompts the need to be recorded or corrected. please take a look at the xml files under conf/lang, they also need to be created and/or modified too. br -- Ing. Sending "alert-info:...." to devices from Conference
by Jon Young 06 Oct '10

06 Oct '10

Hi, I'm using a derivative of the "mad_boss_intercom" to set up paging. I have some devices that need an "alert-info:<...url...>; info=alert-autoanswer" in order to auto answer. Can I set or export that from within the paging/intercom XML or can it be included in the "conference_auto_outcall_prefix". Here is what one of the zones looks like: <extension name="paging01"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^1999$"> <action application="set" data="conference_auto_outcall_caller_id_name=Page1"/> <action application="set" data="conference_auto_outcall_caller_id_number=1999"/> <action application="set" data="conference_auto_outcall_timeout=60"/> <action application="set" data="conference_auto_outcall_flags=mute"/> <action application="set" data="conference_auto_outcall_prefix={sip_auto_answer=true,execute_on_answer='bind_meta_app 2 a s1 transfer::intercept:${uuid} inline'}"/> <action application="set" data="sip_exclude_contact=${network_addr}"/> <action application="conference_set_auto_outcall" data="${group_call(pagezone01)}"/> <action application="conference" data="paging1@default+flags{endconf|deaf}"/> </condition> </extension> This currently works fine with Aastra phones, but not my other phones which need the "alert-info..." Thanks, Jon

Codec question: about the G729 codec
by joy this 04 Oct '10

04 Oct '10

Dear all: I have some questions about the G729 codec. I will be appreciated if someone could help me. 1. If I want to modify the G729 codec, I must compile the module and substitute for the original one. Is it correct? 2. It seems that there is an authentication server for G729. Should I need authentication when I use the modified G729 codec? 3. If I want to add my codec which is not in core, how to do it? Thanks for helping.

Anyone know a LRN provider? Trying to find someone who provides access to the Local Number Portability lookup database to see if a number is ported, and if so, what LRN to use.

Since I was having troubles with getting my sip phone to connect, I decided to try a different resource for instruction on how to install FS. The instructions are found here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/17425068/Free-Switch-in-Real-Life Everything was going fine until I came up with this error on the make install: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/14067 Any thoughts? Openzap rxgain and txgain not working well
by sdemers＠q4innovation.com 02 Oct '10

02 Oct '10

Hi everyone, I notice that the rxgain and txgain in the openzap.conf is not working for the first span (span 1) Is it an issue? Here is the result of my investigation. Configuration: Latest Freeswitch (September 9, 2010) WANPIPE Release: 3.5.15 without smg_pri Sangoma A108 with Echo cancellation enabled. Wanpipe and libpri. In the following openzap.conf, the telus2 got the gains but not telus1 The logs indicate that both got the configuration correctly... But the recording session demonstrate that they don't... [span wanpipe telus1] trunk_type => T1 b-channel => 1:1-23 d-channel => 1:24 rxgain => 11.0 txgain => 7.0 [span wanpipe telus2] trunk_type => T1 b-channel => 2:1-23 d-channel => 2:24 rxgain => 11.0 txgain => 7.0 WORKAROUND: Then I maid a dummy span at the top of these two configs... Yes the dummy span doesn't exists, in fact there is no T1 connected to it. I got some opening error, but I got the gains on both span now... ex: [span wanpipe dummy] trunk_type => T1 b-channel => 3:1-23 d-channel => 3:24 rxgain => 11.0 txgain => 7.0 [span wanpipe telus1] trunk_type => T1 b-channel => 1:1-23 d-channel => 1:24 rxgain => 11.0 txgain => 7.0 [span wanpipe telus2] trunk_type => T1 b-channel => 2:1-23 d-channel => 2:24 rxgain => 11.0 txgain => 7.0 ------------------------------- Openzap.xml.conf Libpri configuration <libpri_spans> <span name="telus1"> <param name="q921loglevel" value="alert"/> <param name="q931loglevel" value="alert"/> <param name="node" value="user"/> <param name="switch" value="ni2"/> <param name="dialplan" value="XML"/> <param name="context" value="public"/> </span> <span name="telus2"> <param name="q921loglevel" value="alert"/> <param name="q931loglevel" value="alert"/> <param name="node" value="user"/> <param name="switch" value="ni2"/> <param name="dialplan" value="XML"/> <param name="context" value="public"/> </span> </libpri_spans>
