No Open ports, can't connect
by Matty Sarro 16 Sep '10

16 Sep '10

Hey all, this is my first post to this mailing list, so please be gentle. I recently got a job at a VoIP carrier. I am trying to learn more about SIP, and have set up a lab on my workstation. Right now I am running centOS in a virtual machine (guest OS) and that is where I've installed freeswitch 1.0.6 (stable). Freeswitch starts with no issues (though getting it to run with init.d doesn't seem to be happening, not a big deal though considering this is just for playing). However checking netstat doesn't show any ports being opened by freeswitch. The centOS install has the firewall and SELinux both disabled so there's no reason no ports should be open that I can tell. On the guest OS I've got ekiga installed, and it won't connect with the default 1000/1234 account. On the host OS I've got ekiga and x-lite installed. Trying with either one gives a request time out. Running a port query on port 5060 on the guest shows that the port as not listening. There are no firewalls between the host and guest OS. I should be able to connect cleanly. My goal is to play around, capture the packets with wireshark, and then be able to analyze them, generate ladder diagrams, etc. I'm setting all of this up so I can learn, so I really don't even know where to begin troubleshooting. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks. -Matthew

how to detect if gateway down ?
by rentmycoder rentmycoder 16 Sep '10

16 Sep '10

Ahoy guys, FS rocks! I'm trying to dial out on a gateway and send call into different dialplan based on if it gets bridged or not. I do: bgapi originate {api_hangup_hook='lua predictive_noanswer.lua',ignore_early_media=true,hangup_after_bridge=true,continue_on_fail=false,bypass_media=false}sofia/gateway/gwname/phoneno '&lua(predictive_bridge.lua)' This works, but when the gatway is down, the channel has not been created, so neither script gets called... [ERR] switch_ivr_originate.c:2430 Cannot create outgoing channel of type [sofia] cause: [NETWORK_OUT_OF_ORDER] I can add a second gateway to try if first is down and send the call to dialplan extension using loopback, like: ... }sofia/gateway/gwname/phoneno,loopback/gw_error/default/XML 'lua(... and add a gw_error extension to the dialplan, but how to get the originate disposition of the first call, eg: NETWORK_OUT_OF_ORDER???

mod_java: anyone interested in maintaining it?
by Patrick Lists 16 Sep '10

16 Sep '10

Hi all, Per bkw's request in bug MODLANG-171, is anyone interested in maintaining mod_java? I don't use mod_java but did bump into some issues (MODLANG-171 and MODLANG-169). So if anyone is interested please reply and/or let the core developers know. Thanks, Patrick

Some build 32 bit binary on 64bit Mac
by Seven Du 15 Sep '10

15 Sep '10

I'm on Mac 10.6.4 64bit, a fresh clone of git head. I tried to build FS into 32 bit. I use the following command when configure: CFLAGS="-arch i386" CXXFLAGS="-arch i386" LDFLAGS="-arch i386" ./configure --prefix=/opt/fs-i386 --host=i386 --build=i386 --target=i386 However, when make, it throws some errors, I manually *change* the source like from "ifdef" to "ifndef" to trick it and make further, however, I still couldn't get fully built. some errors below. and ideas? thanks. src/switch_apr.c: In function 'switch_vasprintf': src/switch_apr.c:1024: warning: implicit declaration of function 'vasprintf' src/switch_core_session.c: In function 'switch_core_session_thread': src/switch_core_session.c:1193: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 8 has type 'switch_size_t' src/switch_core_session.c:1203: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 8 has type 'switch_size_t' src/switch_core_session.c:1221: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 8 has type 'switch_size_t' src/switch_core.c: In function 'send_heartbeat': src/switch_core.c:84: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 5 has type 'long unsigned int' src/switch_core.c: In function 'change_user_group': src/switch_core.c:677: warning: implicit declaration of function 'setgroups' src/switch_core.c:704: warning: implicit declaration of function 'initgroups' src/switch_core.c: In function 'send_heartbeat': src/switch_core.c:84: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 5 has type 'long unsigned int' src/switch_core.c: In function 'change_user_group': src/switch_core.c:677: warning: implicit declaration of function 'setgroups' src/switch_core.c:704: warning: implicit declaration of function 'initgroups' src/switch_rtp.c: In function 'rtp_common_write': src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: 'u_long' undeclared (first use in this function) src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: for each function it appears in.) src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' src/switch_rtp.c:3437: error: expected ')' before 'rtp_session' make[1]: *** [libfreeswitch_la-switch_rtp.lo] Error 1 src/switch_utils.c: In function 'switch_build_uri': src/switch_utils.c:1530: error: 'NI_MAXHOST' undeclared (first use in this function) src/switch_utils.c:1530: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once src/switch_utils.c:1530: error: for each function it appears in.) src/switch_utils.c:1530: error: 'NI_MAXSERV' undeclared (first use in this function) more detailed log: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/13615 -- Blog: http://www.dujinfang.com Proj: http://www.freeswitch.org.cn

Getting call leg details
by Nigel Kent 15 Sep '10

15 Sep '10

I have a event socket listener that catches CHANNEL_HANGUP_COMPLETE events and I want to verify the call leg details 1. Did the call end in aleg or bleg 2. What was the call durations in each of the legs I am not sure if I am applying the terminology of call legs in the proper way but what I mean by aleg is that the incoming call was not bridged and bleg after being bridged

G-723 p-time
by gamalsa 15 Sep '10

15 Sep '10

using g-723 in FS, the call either fails or hear distorted voice. it turns out that our vendor uses p-time 30 ms for g.723 while freeswitch uses 120 ms. Is there a way to set p-time for g.723.1 to 30 ms in FS? or this is transcoding issue that cannot be resolved ..
