Freeswitch and mysql
by Antonio 06 Feb '11

06 Feb '11

Hello, I asked and more I searched, I found nothing, how to integrate FreeSwitch with mysql. Some time ago I found Asterisk-realtime and wanted to know if there is something similar in FreeSwitch. Is to avoid double configurations, for example if there is a conference room that can be accessed from multiple servers, etc. I'm new in FreeSwitch and I have much knowledge ;-) Does anyone have any url or book on how to do? Lua?. Thanks. Greetings

Using "Reason" from hangup
by Ross McKillop 19 Jan '11

19 Jan '11

I have a FreeSWITCH box acting as a gateway between other servers and a TDM switch, primarily for accounting purposes - The TDM switch accurately sets a Reason header as follows; > SIP/2.0 480 Temporarily Unavailable. > Reason: Q.850;cause=31. This is then passed by FreeSWITCH back to the A party as > SIP/2.0 480 Temporarily Unavailable. > Reason: Q.850;cause=16;text="NORMAL_CLEARING". Is there any way to get FreeSWITCH to use the Reason header from the failed B leg when replying to the A party ? I tried setting continue_on_fail=true and hangup_after_bridge=false and then adding a line after the bridge in the dialplan to hangup with the bridge hangup cause e.g.; > <action application="hangup" data="${bridge_hangup_cause}" /> But that hasn't affected the behaviour at all. Regards, Ross

Sharing storage between servers
by Jody Rudolph 17 Jan '11

17 Jan '11

I am curious as to just how far you can take sharing disk storage for the purpose of clustering. Is anyone doing this with the voicemail storage directories? Is it possible to share the SQLite internal databases to avoid resorting to ODBC? I realize that isn't likely, but I have access to some high performance SAN hardware and want to take the most advantage possible. Thanks, Jody Rudolph

Freeswitch & SNMP ( again , but with a difference )
by jay binks 14 Jan '11

14 Jan '11

has anyone done any work on getting SNMP monitoring of freeswitch ?? from looking at some other emails about this, it seems that there is not a heap of desire ( from developers point of view ) to have a FS SNMP module. Ive also noticed most requests for this type of monitoring are directed to ESL. so my thought, has anyone done any work on building a script / module for NET-SNMP ( http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/ ) that uses ESL to fetch its data. so we would run snmpd on our FS boxes, with the FS-ESL module ( or script ) loaded into snmpd. from there SNMP requests would be handled by snmpd and the data would then be pulled over ESL directly from freeswitch. this seems like a decent solution that would not risk stability of FS by introducing yet another module. so I guess my question here is, has anyone done something like this ? what do you all think of this idea ? is there anyone who would like to contribute to this idea or offer other suggestions. oh yea, and why SNMP.. I duno... SNMP is just so easy to integrate into other monitoring systems. -- Sincerely Jay

attack, still no ip address logging
by covici＠ccs.covici.com 19 Dec '10

19 Dec '10

Hi. I was attacked by that famous Friendly scanner, but in the fs logs it did not give the ip address -- I had to put the siptrace on to get the address and dropped all packets. The strange thing was even after dropping the ip address using shorewall, it kept going for a while -- I restarted fs and that seemed to fix things, I am not sure if this was a coincidence or not. I would urge the devs to put the ip address in the request registration or somewhere other than the bad password so fail2ban can be configured to drop the ip address. I don't mean to bother people, but it was a pain and I couldn't make any calls for some time till I fixed things manually. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? John Covici covici(a)ccs.covici.com

New release of FSG729 that fixes a memory leak has been released: http://files.freeswitch.org/fsg729-147-installer Added API options are: ${g729_count()} returns the number of permitted licensed channels. ${g729_available()} returns true or false if the codec is loaded and license server is functional. ${g729_used()} returns the encoder:decoder counts. This paired with ${regex()} can be powerful. g729_status has been replaced with g729_info. Please provide feedback if you run into problems. Thanks, Brian

by email lists 08 Dec '10

Forwarding the issue below to see if anyone is familiar with this issue, and/or what our next steps should be. Thanks, Vladimir Looks like a problem with a Makefile not honoring CFLAGS,etc. Perhaps you can report this to the dev team. Other components built fine but this damn spidermonkey is buggering. # file /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch*.o | head /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-g711.o : ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-getgat eway.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [CMOV] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-igd_de sc_parse.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [CMOV] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-libtel etone_detect.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE2 SSE AMD_3DNow CMOV FPU] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-libtel etone_generate.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE2 SSE AMD_3DNow CMOV] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-miniso ap.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-miniss dpc.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-miniup npc.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE AMD_3DNow] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-miniwg et.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE] /builds/work/freeswitch-1.0.4/freeswitch-1.0.4/libfreeswitch_la-minixm l.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE] # file /opt/freeradius-client/sbin/radacct /opt/freeradius-client/sbin/radacct: ELF 64-bit LSB executable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE2 SSE FXSR AMD_3DNow CMOV FPU], dynamically linked, not stripped Build output: Making all in nua LTCOMPILE nua.lo LTCOMPILE nua_common.lo LTCOMPILE nua_stack.lo LTCOMPILE nua_server.lo LTCOMPILE nua_client.lo LTCOMPILE nua_extension.lo LTCOMPILE nua_dialog.lo LTCOMPILE outbound.lo LTCOMPILE nua_params.lo LTCOMPILE nua_register.lo LTCOMPILE nua_registrar.lo LTCOMPILE nua_session.lo LTCOMPILE nua_options.lo LTCOMPILE nua_message.lo LTCOMPILE nua_publish.lo LTCOMPILE nua_subnotref.lo LTCOMPILE nua_notifier.lo LTCOMPILE nua_event_server.lo LTCOMPILE nua_tag.lo LTCOMPILE nua_tag_ref.lo LINK libnua.la LINK libsofia-sip-ua.la libtool: link: warning: `-version-info/-version-number' is ignored for convenience libraries Making all in packages Creating mod_sofia_la-mod_sofia.lo mkdir .libs Compiling mod_sofia.c ...
