deploying freeswitch
by Pete Kay 23 Jun '08

23 Jun '08

Hi, I am hoping to get some deployment insights from people who have implement freeswitch on a large-scale. I have followed the wiki in setting up Xen and Ultramonkey to load balance two freeswitch. But since freeswitch is stateful and two freeswitch can't share info such as fifo, I am wondering if it is a good idea to do just Hot Standby using Linux-HA instead of load balancing. The problem with just Hot Standby is that I can't load balance traffic to multiple machines, which eventually limits the number of concurrent I can serve. Could someone gives suggestion as to how to best approach this problem? Thanks in advance for your help. Best Regards, Pete

OPTIONS sip
by Ivan C Myrvold 22 Jun '08

22 Jun '08

My FreeSwitch box is sending these OPTIONS sip messages to my Cisco 7960 phone at 192.168.207.160. What does it mean? It is sending these messages even when I unplug the Cisco phone: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/4669 Ivan

Outbound socket
by Ivan C Myrvold 22 Jun '08

22 Jun '08

In my dialplan, I have set the following to send incoming calls to an application I am working on: <action application="socket" data="192.168.207.242:8084 async full"/> This is working very nice, and I am receiving events for all incoming calls, and I am redirecting the calls in my application to some of the registered phones I have. But when I am terminating the calls, I do not getting the hangup events, which I would like to have so I can see when the calls were hung up. This is the last message I get: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/4671 Do I have to set up an inbound socket to the FreeSwitch server, just to catch those messages too? Ivan

Can I get SIP DID working?
by Ivan C Myrvold 21 Jun '08

21 Jun '08

I have used Freeswitch with a DID from Voxbone working on IAX, and that have been working so well. But now Voxbone will discontinue the IAX service, so I have to get DID working on SIP, and I am wondering if that will work at all in my configuration. Freeswitch is behind nat, so when I get a call from Voxbone, see http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/4629 , it will come in on port 5060. Have you covered this situation in the documentation? Ivan

outbound proxy
by Bernhard Suttner 21 Jun '08

21 Jun '08

Hi, how can I setup a pure outbound proxy that the IP address of the SIP INVITE is the outbound proxy but SIP-TO is the address of the PBX (and not the outbound proxy address) In my understanding the outbound proxy should only change the IP destination address and nothing in the original SIP packet. Best Regards, Bernhard

SIP over TCP
by Matt Darnell 20 Jun '08

20 Jun '08

We are looking for a front end to Exchange 2007, it only supports SIP over TCP. Everything I have read so far says that Freeswitch supports it, can anyone confirm it is possible? Thanks, Matt

problems with eventsocket (win32)
by Jonas Gauffin 19 Jun '08

19 Jun '08

Hello I got some problems with the event socket, I do not receive all events. I've confirmed this by adding logs to mod_event_socket (line 548): switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_LOG, SWITCH_LOG_ERROR, "Sending event: %s\n", switch_event_get_header(pevent, "Event-Name")); len = strlen(listener->ebuf); ret = switch_socket_send(listener->sock, listener->ebuf, &len); if (ret != SWITCH_STATUS_SUCCESS) { switch_log_printf(SWITCH_CHANNEL_LOG, SWITCH_LOG_ERROR, "Failed to send event: %d\n", ret); } I get "Failed to send event: 730035". A wild guess is that 730035 corresponds to winsock error WSAEWOULDBLOCK (10035). My problem, or freeswitch's? //Jonas
