Putting javascript to sleep
by Jon Bruel 15 Nov '08

15 Nov '08

I have worked on making a set of scripts and dialplans for a traditional queue, which rings the agents. I have published suggestions and ideas on the WIKI, but I'm still not satisfied with the solution. One of the challenges has been to emulate a sleep command as known in php and many other languages. I have solved it by creating a session for the sake of this, and run session.execute("sleep", 5000), but this solution pivots on the creation of the session, and it not very clean in my opinion. So my question is: are there any elegant ways of putting javascript to sleep in FS? /Jon

Tones.conf data for Argentina
by Gonzalo Servat 14 Nov '08

14 Nov '08

Hi, I've got a single port FXO card which works really well with FS. I even got Zaptel patched with OSLEC which eliminted the little echo I had. The only trouble I'm left with is that when I call my house and let it ring twice then hangup, FS would never detect that the remote side hanged up. I figured my telco doesn't vary the signal levels on hangup so my only choice is detecting hangup by tones. I decided to try the tone_detect app as follows: <action application="tone_detect" data="busy 425 r +2000 hangup user_busy"/> Here is the tones data from the ITU document: Argentine Republic Busy tone - 425 0.3 on 0.2 off Congestion tone - 425 0.3 on 0.4 off Dial tone - 425 continuous End of three party service tone - 950/1400/1800 1x(3x0.33 on) Ringing tone - 425 1.0 on 4.0 off Service activated tone - 425 1.0 on 0.25 off Warning tone - operator intervening 1400 5x0.1 on 1.9 off Waiting tone - 425 0.4 on 0.2 off 0.4 on 4.0 off Call waiting tone - 425 0.3 on 10.0 off The tone_detect app works mostly fine, except that it sometimes "detects" a busy tone right in the middle of a phone call. I say "sometimes" because I can often have an hour-long conversation without a problem. Call waiting is disabled on the line. Would it work better if I removed the tone_detect app and setup the right info in tones.conf? I tried looking at the only country setup in tones.conf (US) while comparing to the ITU document, and there are some numbers in tones.conf that don't make sense which makes it hard for me to figure out what I need to put in tones.conf. Thanks in advance for any help! - Gonzalo

T1/E1 card
by Deepak 14 Nov '08

14 Nov '08

Hi I am planning to use a T1 card w/ Freeswitch and intend to use CAS (Robbed bit). Can someone please guide me as to what the best card/vendor would be. From what I can see three vendors support FS: Pika Sangoma Digium Any suggestion would be appreciated. I intend to use 4 or 8 T1 on a single card. Thanks in advance

E-mail as user id and bridging
by Jan Kubr 14 Nov '08

14 Nov '08

Hi guys, I'd like to have e-mail addresses as user ids in the directory, something like: <user id="brian(a)domain.com" mailbox="9999" > Now is there any way I can bridge a call to this user? This: <action application="bridge" data="user/brian@domain.com@$${domain}" /> doesn't work because of the two @ signs. I tried putting the id in a variable, replace @ with @, but neither helped. Thanks, Jan Kubr

att_xfer+loopback
by x y 13 Nov '08

13 Nov '08

Hi! I'm new to freeswitch, and I'm trying to make an att_xfer in a dialplan, but instead of giving a sofia/${domain}/${called_number} as <channel url>, i would like to use a loopback/${called_number}, because i would like to transfer the call not just to different extensions. Is there any way to achive this? When i'm trying to do this like that: <action application="att_xfer" data="loopback/${callednumber}"/> in a A-call->B-att_xfer->C situation, A gets hanged up, as soon as the bridge has been estabilished between B and C. Btw, i have tryed out att_xfer by giving user/${legal_user} as <channel url>. I've found att_xfer this way a kind of instable, sometimes it worked perfectly, sometimes not: A and C did not hang up, but there weren't succesfully connected (1 time from 10). The log printed the same at both cases. Cheers: Viktor Hirdetés (x) Váltson most olcsóbb kötelezőre a biztosítás-hu-val. www.biztositas.hu - a kötelező biztosítások kiindulópontja!

How to make FS to use ODBC instead of SQLITE?
by gary 13 Nov '08

13 Nov '08

I am tring to configure FS to use ODBC with mysql instead of sqlite to store all the SIP registration information. The UnixODBC and mysql all work fine. I also find the doc on the web regarding install SpiderMonkey ODBC. It seems that this one is for using javascript to access ODBC db. What is the procedure to enable ODBC support for FS core system? I guess I also need to create database schema for FS to use. Where can I find it? I compile FS with following steps: 1) uncomment the languages/mod_spidermonkey_odbc line within the build/modules.conf file. 2) ./configure --enable-core-odbc-support 3) make all install What else do I need to do to make FS using ODBC instead of sqlite? database name? table structure? user name? password? etc Gary

Using Meta-app with curl together
by Doug Blacksone 13 Nov '08

13 Nov '08

Hi, My freeswitch is configured with using curl to generate all the dialplan. Everything seems to be ok except with meta-app. I have setup bind_meta_app as follows: <action application="bind_meta_app" data="1 a s execute_extension::record XML features"/> When *1 is pressed, freeswitch will fetch another dialplan from curl, but the problem is that in the xml that is pressed to curl, there is no variable that can indicates that this is a bind_meta_app, the key being pressed, nor the context name ( which is called features in this case). Therefore, I find it difficult to handle the curl request and properly response to it. I suspect that I may have overlook a parameter or something like that. Any clue or help will be greatly helpful. Regards, Doug

Hi, >Well this backtrace doesn't help at all.
