Special SIP scenario
by Sluschny, Thomas 21 Feb '07

21 Feb '07

Hi all, I want to do a special SIP using and I dont know how to configure it with: originate/bridge/transfer no_media and so on May be it is not possible with freeswitch? Here comes scenario: - one sender device that sends multicast RTP stream to network - one or more receiver devices that only receive RTP data from network The codec is a proprietary one (41), freeswitch can ignore all RTP data. Sender has to get attributs: u=file:/C:/dap/123.wav c=IN IP4 239.194.0.14 t=0 0 m=audio 7280 RTP/AVP 41 a=rtpmap:41 PCMA/16000 a=recvonly b=AS:128 Receiver has to get attributs: c=IN IP4 239.193.201.69 t=0 0 a=specialExtension:2 a=type:broadcast m=audio 7280 RTP/AVP 41 a=rtpmap:41 PCMA/16000 a=sendonly Is it possible to use freeswitch API to do this? Many thanks in advance, Thomas Sluschny

FreeSWITCH logo contest
by Brian West 21 Feb '07

21 Feb '07

Attention FreeSWITCHERS, We are going to have a Logo contest for a new logo for FreeSWITCH. We would like that capture the idea that we are connecting things or converging things. The logo will need to be provided in at least 300dpi as big as possible for t-shirts and other such project related material. The logos will be put up and voted on and the winner will receive a 2xFXO, 2xFXS Analog card from Sangoma and a Sweater. Please email your logo designs to me along with your information. The logo will have to be licensed for unlimited use by the project. You can also join #freeswitch-web to talk about related items. Thanks, Brian West FreeSWITCH

Dialplan actions
by Jonas Gauffin 21 Feb '07

Hello What kind of actions can I use in a diaplan and what kind of parameters do they have? How should sound files be specified in win32? I tried this: <extension name="testmusic"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^1234$"> <action application="set" data="ringback=C:/windows/Media/ringin.wav"/> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/$${domain}/1234(a)conference.freeswitch.org"/> </condition> </extension> Regards, Jonas

Newbie question
by Jonas Gauffin 21 Feb '07

21 Feb '07

Hello I'm new to voip applications (but have work with traditional pbx:es for 10 years). I've downloaded freeswitch, compiled it and got it up and running. I've managed to use "pa call 1234" to test it. The next step is to use a voip phone (in my case i'm using SJPhone) to call freeswitch, right? I've followed the "Getting started guide" and configured it as this: What are the domain settings used for? I'm a member of the datatal domain (company network) any when my vpn is connected, else i'm a member of my isp's domain. This also means that I got two ip addresses, one for the vpn virtual network adapter and one for my nic. Anyway, freeswitch is not answering when I try to dial (in SJphone) 1234(a)jg.datatal.se or 1234(a)datatal.se. I've tried with 1234(a)192.168.0 too. Anyone want to be kind and help a voip newbie? =) //Jonas

I am currently considering an eagle or a jaguar as our mascot and possibly part of the logo. It has nothing to do with politics so please don't go there. dial-n-play event socket script
by David Nicol 20 Feb '07

20 Feb '07

the attached script relies on a slightly modified freeswitch::client that does a readhash before get_events, and the general custom-event-complete event that Anthony added yesterday (freeswitch SVN rev 4328 or later) it takes two command line arguments, a sip url and a file name, and originates a call to the url and plays the file, then hangs up. The motivating use case for this work is, if you have an "intercom extension" to your desk phone, you can install freeswitch instead of configuring ARTs, and get beeps and boops from applications running on remote machines from your phone instead of from your computer speaker by invoking dialnplay in, for instance, the gaim sounds configuration. Inbound and Outbound connection for gtalk
by Shiladitya Sircar 19 Feb '07

Hello, Can any one direct me towards some documentation on how to set up freeswitch for inbound/outbound gtalk voice connection. A sample dingaling.conf.xml and dial plan identifying how to configure freeswitch to achieve this would be very helpful. thanks -ssircar

Windows build
by Erwin Dokter 18 Feb '07

18 Feb '07

Hello, I run Windows and have been looking for software that can handle IAX2 and ENUM on this platform. FreeSwitch looks like a Godsent, but unfortunately, there is no Windows download. Skimming through the archives, I read that one or two have but Windows builds up for download, but those links are no longer working. So are there still any users/developers that are building Windows binaries, and would you be willing to put these up for download? Regards, -- Erwin Dokter
