Now that building the solution works on windows for me - I tried following the instructions at pacall <number to dial>. A few things that you can do (which are included in configuration by default) are: * Dial any toll free number free of charge! * Dial 888 and talk to FreeSWITCH developers in our conference! * Dial 1000 and try out the new FreeSWITCH mod_conference! I get the following error 2006-07-18 16:22:39 [CONSOLE] switch_console.c:114 switch_console_process() Unknown Command: pacall Do I need to change some settings to load the port audio module? For those trying to build on windows, there was an error in one of the build automation scripts that would have prevented you from building on windows. This problem is now corrected in svn version 1901. Mike

I just heard about FreeSwitch this morning and have downloaded, compiled, installed it and even started it up. The instructions for installation were most helpful. But I'm not sure where to go from here. Any instructions (even minimal) on how to try it out? Sorry in advance if this has been answered before. I looked through the website and could not spot anything; but perhaps I missed it. Thanks. Johann

So I followed the instructions and it almost builds completely (========== Build: 33 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 4 skipped ==========) 1. the only remaining error is: Compiling... mod_spidermonkey.c Compiling manifest to resources... Also, is there a recommended set of tests that should be run to validate the build ? Make sure you have an internet connection on your first build, it downloads some required files and creates switch_version.h after doing some version lookups that require access to the subversion repository. open up w32/vsnet/freeswitch.sln Select the main solution node at the top of the solution explorer Right Click -> select build. If you continue to have issues after that, can you paste the ENTIRE initial build log in so I can take a look and/or catch me on IRC and let me into the box to take a look. Also, I just commited the updates to the installer this morning that includes all the more recent modules, I hope to do a daily snapshot msi for download soon. freeswitch startup issue

Hi ! Luckly freeswitch installed on my system after downloading other libraries. But when i run freeswitch I get this error ./freeswitch: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/freeswitch/lib/libfreeswitch.so.1: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied Any idea how to solve this problem. I also build the same way you mentioned in your e-mail that let the scripts download the dependencies and specific libraries during the make process, so that there is no version conflilct. The only thing which I can feel is make failed three four times as my internet was slow and all the times I deleted the folder snapshot_????? and started from scratch again. Therefore every time it download every thing on my computer as it is the first time. Is there any way to uninstall all the previous installation and try my luck again. Permission denied does always seem to be related to permissions did you do a full "make installall" I can almost promise you that you would have better luck just building it the way it wants to build including downloading the depends they are specific versions of each depend and they install into a private location so the will not interfere with any other versions you may have.
