Hi, One of our voulenteer developer/contributors has just decided to make a carreer move. Since he is familiar with Asterisk/OpenPBX/FreeSWITCH and has been a good supporter, I thought any employers who need a good VoIP developer would like to learn about this oppurtunity. http://www.hyperdyne.org/justinu_resume.pdf Anthony Minessale II FreeSWITCH http://www.freeswitch.org/ ClueCon http://www.cluecon.com/ AIM: anthm MSN:anthony_minessale@hotmail.com JABBER:anthony.minessale@gmail.com IRC: irc.freenode.net #freeswitch FreeSWITCH Developer Conference sip:888@66.250.68.194 iax:guest@66.250.68.194/888 googletalk:freeswitch@gmail.com pstn:712-432-7800

Proxy Authentication Request
by Helmut Kuper 28 Feb '07

28 Feb '07

Hello, well I got it solved now .... to configure my upstream provider I had to put freeswitch IP address into this sofia conf fields <param name="rtp-ip" value="212.6.123.118"/> <param name="sip-ip" value="212.6.123.118"/> This solved my "Invalid Session Description" resp. "invalid transport IP address" due to DNS issues on my provider side. Then I had to configure <registration name="EWE TEL"> ... <param name="register-from" value="sip:032223930016@sip01.voice.ewetel.de"/> This is freeswitch's address in my providers voip domain <param name="register-to" value="sip:032223930016@212.6.123.118"/> Dunno what exactly this does, but it tells my provider at least on which IP address the number 032223930016 can be found. ... </registration> I can do establish now a ring from uac, through freeswitch, through provider, through PSTN to my old classic phone at office... quite long way to get from pc mouse to phone on the desk ... ;) Tomorrow I will test a real call when I'm back in office ... regards helmut ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello, after fixing my sofia configuration cause of my "invalid transport IP address" problem I got a new problem :( Freeswitch tries to set up a call to my upstream provider on behalf of originating uac. My provider replies with a 407 "Proxy Authentication Required". Freeswitch acknowledges to my provider and sends a 603 "Decline" message back to uac and terminates the call. Looks all quite clean. But ... Shouldn't freeswitch send authentication data to my provider as a response to 407 message? If so, is this data the same as for registration? And further where can I tell freeswitch to do so? regards helmut -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Freeswitch as b2bua
by Helmut Kuper 28 Feb '07

28 Feb '07

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I want to know whether freeSWITCH is able to be a b2bua proxy for both sip and rtp or not. sofia has a registration section to Register freeswitch to one or more upstream VoIP provider. I understand this feature in that way, that UAC registered to freeswitch can use this sip accounts to do outbound calls into a external VoIP-Cloud/domain. My picture of it is as follows: 1. uac1(a)mydomain.com makes an outbound call to uac2(a)externaldomain.com 2. freeswitch gets this call, answered it and sets up a RTP stream to uac1. 3. freeswitch uses the destination address of uac1 and establish a call as a member of externaldomain.com eg. freeswitch(a)externaldomain.com. 4. freeswitch bridges the RTP stream between uac1 and freestwitch's own call. This means uac1 is only talking to freewitch while freeswitch is talking to uac1 destination. So freeswitch acts like a man in the middle. Am I wrong ? In my test environment freeswitch registers to the upstream provider, but when I start a call from uac1 to a uac in that upstream provider domain. freeswitch takes it and send an invite to upstream. In this invite message I can find a source sip address which is that from uac1 instead of freeswitch's registration account for upstream domain. The upstream sip proxy sends first a Trying and then a 488 message "Invalid Session Description". The 488 message contains a Warning named " Warning: 301 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 'invalid transport IP address'" I think this reffers to the forwarded uac1 source sip address, so that I think that the upstream sip proxy doesn't accept source addresses which doesn't belog to that upstream sip domain. Any ideas how I can convince freeswitch to act as a UAC-Proxy for rtp and sip? regards helmut -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFF5UTR4tZeNddg3dwRApXDAJ427t8eg7mr0nG+e7PlSEucrROuQQCfYAzg Wje678MWuowzbN1mE212hHo= =mF5Q -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

error running freeswitch
by anish sheth 27 Feb '07

Thanks Mike. disabling portaudio fixed the problem. now I am running into TLS not supported error from libdangling. I saw other posts about this error mentioning installing gnutls before compiling freeswitch. I have tried that. but looks like still no change. I wil try one more time.. Thanks, -anish This looks like an issue we have seen with alsa support in portaudio. Does the issue happen if you don't load mod_portaudio? Yes, I'm afraid everyone is concerned about eagles and implications of propaganda so... whatever, nevermind. I also was considering a Mustang. Does that animal somehow offend anyone? Too bad there was not so much input from around the world when we were developing the multi-lingual phrase say api..... oh well.
