Unintended call termination
by Craig Kowald 16 Aug '07

16 Aug '07

I see that this problem occurred back in January 07 and again in May 07, but I could not find the answer :(. I make a call using a Grandstream Budge Tone 200 IP phone and as soon as the receiving end picks up the call it is terminated. It does not matter what the destination of the call is: mobile, landline or another internal handset. I have put a copy of the freeswitch log at: http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/3187 I have used this phone successfully with an Asterisk installation so believe that it works fine. I have also received calls with this phone via freeswitch, it is just when I use it to make a call that I have this problem. Any ideas/suggestions ? Regards, Craig.

problem making internal calls

I am trying to call from one internal phone to another internal phone - but I can not get it working :(. I have an analog phone connected to a Digium TDM400P and an IP phone (identified as user:5) In directory.xml I have identified the IP phone as: <user id="5"> <params> <param name="password" value="5"/> </params> </user> In my dialplan I have: <extension name="Internal-5"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^5$"> <action application="bridge" data="sofia/${sip_profile}/5% ${sip_profile}"/> </condition> </extension> In sophia.xml I try to make it so that sip phones have to register by having: <param name="auth-calls" value="true"/> <param name="auth-all-packets" value="true"/> When I dial '5' on the analog phone I can see that freeswitch tries to make the connection, but can not: [NOTICE] switch_core_state_machine.c:134 switch_core_standard_on_execute() Execute bridge(sofia/${sip_profile}/5% ${sip_profile}) [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:158 switch_core_standard_on_execute() Expanded String bridge(sofia/192.168.0.4/5%192.168.0.4) [WARNING] mod_sofia.c:1397 sofia_outgoing_channel() Cannot locate registered user 5(a)192.168.0.4 Any ideas/suggestions on how to call internal sip phones ? rtptimeout or rtcptimeout
by Rodrigo P. Telles 15 Aug '07

Hi Folks, I did some searchs on FS wiki, lists archive and Google about this feature even in the source code but I could not find anything about it. Does some one knows if FS has any kind of RTP timeout or a workaround do tear down a call by RTP inactivity? I appreciate any answer! Yes I want to keep more modules in the svn tree we have a few in the scripts subdir like scripts/js_modules/SpeechTools.jm for the asr stuff. I got a couple of OOP javascript modules (for freeswitch) that I can contribute with. Should javascript modules be checked in too? Currently there are a lot of example code in the wiki, but it doesn't feel like the right place. Maybe there should be some example applications and modules in the repository? for instance, my module can do this: digit = input.getByMenu("123", "to_conference_1;to_queue_2;to_operator_3"); That creates a complete menu that does this: a) Only valid digits are 123 b) It plays "choice_invalid" if an invalid choice was pressed (max three times) c) plays "choice_timeout" if the user do not enter anything d) playes "choice_too_many_tries" if three attempts was made. e) It plays all of the soundfiles that was separated with semicolon f) Soundfiles that end with "_X" are handled in a special way. _X will be substituted with "pressX" soundfile. i.e the following soundfiles will be played: "to_conference", "press1", to_queue", "press2", "to_operator", "press3". That's perfect if you got a database driven menu where u want to reuse your normal sound files. I've also made the module aware of language choice. (You can switch language any time in the IVR apps). That would make no sense because it is totally unreasonable to assume that everyone wants that behavior. Why does *your* preference deserve to be the default behavior instead of mine? If you need monolithic narrow minded approaches to ivr code I can recommend something else for you. It would be much nicer if records and playing phrases are per default aborted if a DTMF is pressed. This behavior should be overridden if recordFile and streamFile have got a callback specified (which handles if a DTMF should stops the recording/phrase or not). I think that the most usual case is that DTMF aborts both recordings and phrases, and it should therefore be the most easy alternative to use. Right now, one have to use callbacks (which requires a lot more work) to get the most common behavior. //jonas _______________________________________________ Freeswitch-users mailing list Freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better Globetrotter. I was not being rude. When I compared your preference to mine I was playing the rhetorical role of any other developer..... Let me make something clear. Some aspects of this software are the result of months, yes months of discussion and other people's input. It's my responsibility to manage and maintain this software and if I make a decision on how I want a behavior to function with little or no input, that is my prerogative. I find the request too trivial for debate and I simply refuse, respectably to discuss it. So you are correct. I do, however have many other topics I am more than willing to put out into a public forum. This is again done at my discretion so please understand as I already explained my reasoning for denying your request. I apologize for any comments in this or any previous email that you find rude. This will remain my public policy on all decisions regarding FreeSWITCH. Thank you. Almost sounds that you don't want any discussion if someone questions your design choices. And that is NOT what I did. FreeSwitch is very nice. I simply suggested what I thought was the best solution for a commonly used function. And it would be nice to get a discussion and not such rude answer back. And i'm not making suggestions out of the blue, i'm been working as a telecom programmer for 11 years now. And trust me, my solutions have NEVER been "monolithic narrow minded". Hello I would like to have a change in the way that DTMF input are being used. //jonas
