Scalable voip providers
by Daniel Swarbrick 10 Mar '08

10 Mar '08

I'm working on a project that requires pstn "break-in" (ie, forwarding pstn numbers to a sip trunk) in the UK, to a Freeswitch box that will also use a (possibly different) sip trunk provider to dial numbers in the US. In the UK, we will eventually need contiguous blocks of perhaps a few hundred numbers (although most numbers will just step to an available channel), and may handle up to a few hundred simultaneous calls. Likewise, the sip trunk provider for outbound dialling needs to support potentially up to a few hundred calls, although these call volumes won't be there initially - more like probably about 20-30 simultaneous calls. I've done a fair bit of searching, but most voip providers seem to cater for home users who just want to replace their landline. What I need is probably bordering on wholesale providers. If the UK provider could arrange the number blocks too, that would be even better. Can anyone recommend a provider or providers that would fit the requirements above, and that plays nicely with Freeswitch? If you're wondering if this is a toll-bypass voip provider project that may infringe your own business, don't worry. It's a distributed call centre business.

HI Lists, This is my first post in this list i hope i will get the guide and information to help us moving from asterisk to freeswitch. Currently i am using Asterisk as Softswitch to route the calls to voip carriers, accounting and athurization. But some time i am getting problem in CDRs the calls hanged in asterisk without any RTP and audio. For this reason i want to switch to freeswitch if it is right choise for softswitch purpose. Is FS support kind of realtime database so we can let SIP ATAs register direct from database? Does it have some API so we can run Perl to calculate max credit time for priticular destinations? I will be appriciate if any one can guide me in right way so i can start from there? Thank You Abdul Lateef --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Instead if 1000 calls 1001 it sounds good. _Default Trunk_ make current make install /usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch problem is the same. _with 2 Lines commented_ make current make install /usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch problem is the same. _with extra line_ make current make install /usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch problem is the same. :-( Is there some extra debug info I can get to you? Running under WinXP, and have experienced very similar results: choppy music for default 9999, but clear for other recordings such as default 3000 (conf-alone.wav) and conference controls (mute, unmute, etc). -Brian Young <brian.young(a)ara.com> -----Original Message----- From: freeswitch-users-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] On Behalf Of Cavalera Claudio Luigi Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2008 11:28 AM To: freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] freeswitch in vmware I've solved the timing issues in fs vmware, I mean that those error messages are now history. However the problem with moh dialing 9999 still remains. I've tried from my pc and another one. Music is "choppy". I've also tried a 1000 to 1001 sip call using zoiper and it sounds crystal clear. Strange. Is there any default iax user in the system?
