Best way to replicate include =>?
by Kristian Kielhofner 20 Oct '08

20 Oct '08

In Asterisk one can include the extensions of another context with include =>. What's the best way to pull that off in FreeSWITCH? I've played a bit with mod_dptools transfer but it doesn't look like it's going to do exactly what I want... Any ideas? Thanks! -- Kristian Kielhofner http://blog.krisk.org http://www.submityoursip.com http://www.astlinux.org http://www.star2star.com

I love FreeSwitch
by jocke eriksson 20 Oct '08

Hello my friends! I would like to start this letter by saying FS rocks. I have been working on a application built on top of FS for a month, and it has been a pleasure. The application is a browser that controls FS with the WC3 standard SCXML. The syntax is very close to CallXML 3.0 and it is based on the Apache Commons SCXML. If you are a Java developer working with FS, then I would strongly recommend this approach. Anyway thank you FS and keep up the good work. Regards Jocke.

Error database is locked
by Jon Bruel 20 Oct '08

20 Oct '08

I have made an application using the fifo application which behaves as the Asterisk queue: It rings to the members. I use javascript DB to access the core database in various scripts, f.in the following script: //This script is used to disconnect agents being rung from a queue when abandoned by the customer before answered. use("CoreDB"); var db = new CoreDB("core"); var sql="select uuid from channels where cid_num='"+argv+"' and state='CS_EXECUTE';"; db.prepare(sql); while(db.next()) { rec = db.fetch(); apiExecute("uuid_kill", rec["uuid"]); } db.close(); My problem is that I get a message from the CLI: mod_spidermonkey.c:3300 js_api_use() Loading CoreDB, [ERR] mod_spidermonkey_core_db.c:250 db_prepare() Error database is locked. The error does not occur every time. I have closed the database in every script using it. Is the anything I should be aware of to prevent this from happening?

Is there an easy way to define a separate log file per SIP Profile ?? Im trying to emulate the apache function of ( optionally ) having separate logs per virtual server. Sincerely Jay Binks

plz compile latest snapshot for windows along with msi
by xbipin 19 Oct '08

19 Oct '08

hi, this is for the freeswitch developers, can u plz compile the latest snapshots of freeswitch and provide the msi installer for the latest snapshot coz i have been using the installer which was last compiled on 15 aug and its has been quiet some time that an updated installer is available. I was using the last installer on my win2k3 server, works fine except that it crashes on shutdown and the sip client hears a very fast saying IVR when dialed the 5000 number and the IVR is broken up, meaning it can be heard but with some bits missing or lets say with jitter, any way to make rtp packets much smoother or audio much smoother as i was running openSBC on the same server and it routes packets pretty fine so its got nothing to do with the server or the route from the client to the server. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/plz-compile-latest-snapshot-for-windows-along-with-ms… Sent from the Freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Hardware crypto support
by Kristian Kielhofner 18 Oct '08

18 Oct '08

Hello everyone, I've been a big fan of hardware crypto acceleration for some time. On x86 I especially like VIA Padlock (available in C3/C7 cpus): http://www.logix.cz/michal/devel/padlock/ I've patched several apps using OpenSSL 0.9.7 to support padlock and the results really are pretty amazing. There are now patches available for OpenSSL 0.9.8 to init the hardware engine for any app compiled against the patched version of OpenSSL. Like the author says, no more patching apps for padlock! However for those of us stuck with OpenSSL 0.9.7 for the time being, where might I begin to look in the sources to patch SSL/TLS support in FreeSWITCH? 1) SIP-TLS 2) SRTP 3) Curl w/ HTTPS 4) What else? The other question (maybe the first question) is - what ciphers are typically negotiated for SRTP (where I expect most of the work to be)? All I've ever seen is AES_CM_128_HMAC_SHA1_32, which *should* do fairly well on cores that have hashing in hardware (Esther/C7). P.S. - I understand that for many configurations I can side step RTP handing all together, or simply pass it through FreeSWITCH. However, in many situations (SIP-TLS SRTP on handset -> SIP UDP RTP SIP provider) this isn't possible and FreeSWITCH would need to decrypt the incoming RTP stream/encrypt the outgoing stream (which works perfectly, btw). Thoughts? -- Kristian Kielhofner http://blog.krisk.org http://www.submityoursip.com http://www.astlinux.org http://www.star2star.com

Freeswitch and XML-RPC
by Klaus Teller 18 Oct '08

18 Oct '08

Hi, It seems i can send commands to Freeswitch using XML-RPC. The only document i could find on this is: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Freeswitch_XML-RPC Given that i'm using Java, i was wondering what else (beside originating a call) can I do via XML-RPC. How do i send for instance DTMF read requests, how do i send a request to stream a file? Any other document i could check to know what i can do with this? I would think that most of the functions that are available through Javascript are available via XML-RPC. But how do i send these commands? Thanks, Klaus. -- Psssst!
