FreeSWITCH IPv6 Support
by 王聡 28 Aug '19

28 Aug '19

Hi all, According to Apple and Google’s app review guideline, all apps need to support IPv6-only network, so I tried to enable ipv6 support on my freeswitch server. In my development environment, a server with both ipv4 and ipv6 address is ready. Server Info: Debian stretch 9.9 FreeSWITCH Version 1.8.7+git~20190702T200609Z~6047ebddfc~64bit (git 6047ebd 2019-07-02 20:06:09Z 64bit) Also, profile external-ipv6 and internal-ipv6 for freeswitch had also enabled. In addition, a pure-ipv6 network(no NAT64) is also ready for test. As the test result, clients could access to server via ipv6-only network for registration(sip package showed in server with siptrack), but failed to make calls in same network. Freeswitch log showed a failure in originate, which returned an 606 USER NOT REGISTERED. Both clients was showed in “show registrations” with correct ipv6 address, but Sofia couldn’t get contact string(got 606 in sofia_contact). Is there any additional settings need for Sofia to enable ipv6 support? Any suggestion would be appreciated. Regards.

Stop recording during hold and resume on unhold
by Arik Halperin 26 Aug '19

26 Aug '19

Hello, I have 2 legs of a call, when one of them goes on hold the other leg hears hold music but session recording continues on all channels. This means that the recording produced, contains the hold music+any audio the user is uttering during this period. I would like to stop the recording during the period of the hold. How can I do it using Lua? Currently I’m catching the hold and untold events using hook events: <hook event="CHANNEL_HOLD" script = "channel_hold.lua"/> <hook event="CHANNEL_UNHOLD" script = "channel_unhold.lua”/> Tried the following code and similar, but it does not work: local recording_dir='/usr/local/freeswitch/recordings/' local uuid = event:getHeader("Unique-ID") session = freeswitch.Session(uuid) freeswitch.consoleLog("crit", uuid .. " on hold:"..session:getState()) local x_session_id = session:getVariable("sip_h_X-SESSION-ID"); record_path = recording_dir .. x_session_id .. '.mp3' freeswitch.consoleLog("crit","Stopping session on:"..record_path) api = freeswitch.API(); session:execute("set", "uuid_record "..session:get_uuid().." stop "..record_path) Also tried, record_session_stop and did not work either. Thanks, Arik Halperin

Freeswitch RFC 4579 - REFER: Requesting a Focus to Add a New Resource to a Conference
by Geeta Totiger 26 Aug '19

26 Aug '19

Hello Freeswitch Team, I am new to freeswitch and trying to figure out if Freeswitch support RFC 4579 adding new member to conference by REFER. *Question:* Will Freeswitch support adding a member to conference by means of REFER message as mentioned in RFC 4579 section 5.5 ( https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4579 ) ? *What all I tried so far:* I tried the exercise given in confluence dial-plan way to add a member to conference but it works through DTMF trigger. I am looking for something SIP based resource add to conference. I see that Freeswitch documentation says It supports RFC 4579, But will it support adding member to conference by REFER messages(5.5 section in RFC 4579) ? I saw many Tickets around this area but nothing clearly answers my question. Few example links: https://freeswitch.org/jira/browse/FS-7259 https://freeswitch.org/jira/si/jira.issueviews:issue-html/FS-5611/FS-5611.h… https://lists.freeswitch.org/pipermail/freeswitch-users/2016-August/121795.… *Scenario I tried :* When I try to REFER a member to conference, Freeswitch trigger the outbound call but it treats it as blind transfer and kicks out the party which sends refer message. I want freeswitch just to include the referred member but not kick out the party which sent refer. and be in conference call. ==================================================================================================== There are 2 members in conference. one member is dialed through gw. that member is trying to add another client which is sip:service@172.29.0.3. Freeswitch triggers the Invite to Refer-To member but it sends BYE to Referred-By member. Treating it as a blind transfer. ==================================================================================================== REFER sip:gw+sbc@172.29.0.2:5060 SIP/2.0 Via: SIP/2.0/TCP 172.29.0.3:5060;branch=z9hG4bK-34-1-5 Max-Forwards: 70 To: <sip:gw+sbc@172.29.0.2:5060>;tag=mB6pSrNNZ4Sta From: sut <sip:service@172.29.0.3:5060>;tag=34SIPpTag011 Call-ID: 0ce57982-42a7-1238-c39e-0242ac1d0002 CSeq: 8859010 REFER Allow: INVITE, ACK, CANCEL, OPTIONS, BYE, REFER, NOTIFY Supported: replaces Refer-To: <sip:service@172.29.0.3:5080;transport=TCP> Referred-By: <sip:172.29.0.3:5060> Contact: <sip:172.29.0.3:5060;transport=TCP> Content-Length: 0 Is it possible in freeswitch ? lua freeswitch.Dbh "ERR [unable to open database file]"
by Gulyás Attila 24 Aug '19

24 Aug '19

Hi, When I try to connect to a remote PostgreSQL server, I get 2019-08-23 10:19:05.793364 [ERR] switch_core_db.c:223 SQL ERR [unable to open database file] when using the Lua API freeswitch.Dbh("pgsql://hostaddr=1.2.3.4 dbname=mydb user=postgres password=postgres options='-c client_min_messages=NOTICE' application_name='freeswitch'") (as recommended in the docs at: https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/FreeSWITCH+Databases ) It has been working flawlessly, even across FreeSWITCH service restarts, then I foolishly did a `sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade` on Debian 9, and that was it. Would you recommend some steps on how I could troubleshoot this further? The error message is too generic. What I did so far: 0. Server reboot, call to server connects, Lua script works as intended, but fails at the DB part. 1. Checked the database on the remote server, it works fine. 2. Checked whether port is still open on remote server from the freeswitch server with `nc -zv 1.2.3.4 5432` and it is. Thank you for any suggestions! Appreciatively, Attila

upgrade freeswtich 1.4.26~37-1~jessie+1 i386 to freeswitch_1.10.1 amd64
by Jelle de Jong 23 Aug '19

23 Aug '19

Hello everybody, I just found out my freeswitch was not updating because I had a i386 version and all new versions where amd64. I can change to a amd64 buster version, but I would like to know what configuration issues I will be going to have. Is there an upgrade script from 1.4 to 1.10 (or do I need to upgrade to 1.8 or 1.6 first?). How can I keep the current configuration working? and if not is there a documentation page to make this move easier? Kind regards, Jelle de Jong -- freeswitch_1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1_amd64.deb freeswitch-meta-all_1.10.1~release~12~f9990221e6~buster-1~buster+1_amd64.deb
