CPU sys load issue
by Antonio Silva 03 Mar '17

03 Mar '17

Hi, i'm having an issue with FS that gets lock every morning with cpu sys hitting 80%, because is limited in fs with min-idle, it could reach the 100%, so the calls are rejected by load, to solve the problem i kill fs and start it again. I discard a load issue, because after restarting freeswitch the system increases in number of sessions/cps and no problems at all until next day.... it's given me crazy... i've enough memory, lots of cores... after restart fs the system stays at less than 30% of cpu usage. Right now i have hpet as clocksource, transcoding is minimal (use inheric_codec, only happens because of different ptimes with some endpoints) . anyone having similar problem? or any tip i can do to debug this issue? For info the Jira ticket can be located at https://freeswitch.org/jira/browse/FS-9957, i've done a gcore, top, htop when the system is with high cpu sys but i can't figure the thread that is causing the issue... initial i thought it was because of module lua (most of my logic is done there), but today only 2 threads where running mod_lua when it happen. Appreciate the help. -- Saludos / Regards / Cumprimentos, António silva

jitter buffer during bridge call
by Caragea Silviu 28 Feb '17

28 Feb '17

Hello, I'm using last FS 1.6.15 to bridge a call and to transcode it as well from ILBC/ISAC to PCMU. To enable jitter buffer during bridge I'm using: <action application="set" data="rtp_jitter_buffer_during_bridge=true"/> <action application="export" data="nolocal:jitterbuffer_msec=60:200:20"/> What I observed is that looking with wireshark still shows jitter on leg B which is sent to PSTN even if there is no jitter on leg A, or shows worst jitter on leg B in case I have jitter on call A. I was expected that the jitter buffer will fix this and even if I have a slightly low jitter on leg A will not be propagated on le B as well. I'm missing something ? Silviu

I am using originate to make the outbound call. Now I understand that vmute will not work in 'passthrough' mode. That's why I was facing the problem. Regards, Senthil Ganesh

In proxy_media mode, RTCP is not proxied or activated
by Richard Chan 27 Feb '17

27 Feb '17

Hi list, Is there a way to force FS to activate RTCP and rewrite SDP to a:rtcp:<freeswitch_ip_address> in proxy media mode? Testing FS 1.6.15 in proxy media mode with two pjproject-2.6 pjsua clients. FS is not rewriting rtcp lines. In SDP, c= # correctly rewritten to point to FS. a=rtcp: # not pointing to FS, but as the UAs sent. switch_rtp.c:switch_rtp_activate_rtcp() always exits early as ms_per_packet is 0 #################### The dial plan has <action application="set" data="proxy_media=true"/> Both UAs generate rtcp lines in SDP Caller v=0 o=- 3697019958 3697019958 IN IP4 10.1.1.8 s=pjmedia b=AS:117 t=0 0 a=X-nat:0 m=audio 4018 RTP/SAVP 9 120 96 c=IN IP4 10.1.1.8 b=TIAS:96000 a=rtcp:4019 IN IP4 10.1.1.8 a=sendrecv a=rtpmap:9 G722/8000 a=rtpmap:120 opus/48000/2 a=fmtp:120 useinbandfec=1 a=rtpmap:96 telephone-event/8000 a=fmtp:96 0-16 -- Richard Chan

Session Timer Event
by Colin Morelli 27 Feb '17

27 Feb '17

Hey all, Hopefully quick and easy question. I'm trying to comb through the source to find out - but having a hard time tracking it down. Is there an event FS emits when a refresher request is received on a call with session timers enabled? Best, Colin

FreeSWITCH outbound call with "sendonly" media
by Muthupandi Govindharaj 27 Feb '17

27 Feb '17

I am making an outbound call from one FreeSWITCH to another FreeSWITCH. The local SDP(in the first FS which originates the call) has a=sendrecv. How to change it as "sendonly". The outbound call should be "sendonly". In short originating FS should not receive any media data from the other(destination FS) I tried the following with no luck <action application="set" data="res=${bgapi originate sofia/external/${conference_name}@$${second_FS} &conference(${conference_name}@av++flags{second-screen})}"/> Thanks & Regards, -- Muthu G --

vmute not working in passthrough mode
by Senthil Ganesh 27 Feb '17

27 Feb '17

I am doing a conferencing application. I want some members to be video muted when they enter the conference. I tried setting the member-flag vmute. It's working only when the 'video-mode' is set as 'mux'. In 'passthrough' mode, vmute is not working. However member-flag mute is working in both the modes. Will the member-flag vmute work in passthrough mode? Regards, Senthil Ganesh
