Latest production release for Windows
by Clive Lansink 20 Jul '16

20 Jul '16

Hello everyone. I'm having a little trouble finding what should be the latest production release of Freeswitch for built for Windows. I went to http://freeswitch.org and chose the download link. This reveals an page about installation which was last updated on 13 June this year so so far so good. It says the current production version is 1.6. Further down is a link to a page with more information on installing for Windows, including pre-compiled installers. There is a link to freeswitch.msi with a description saying this is built each week. I followed that link to the table showing the directories and chose the X64 link to get a 64-bit installer. So now I see two installers. One is called FreeSWITCH-1.7.0-0a024c4ecb-64bit.msi. I presume this is version 1.7 so is not the production release I am looking for. The other is just freeswitch.msi, but I see it is quite old, dated 10 January. I installed it anyway but it turns out to be version 1.5.15 so isn't the production version. Can someone please point me to the latest production version? Thank you. Clive Lansink Email: Clive(a)Lansink.Co.NZ Phone: +64 9 520-4242 Mobile: +64 21 663-999 Fax: +64 21 789-150

by Yu Boot 20 Jul '16

I want to use "limit" dialplan app for calls count. dialplan: .... <action application="limit" data="hash peername allcalls 1000"/> ..... Then, in fs_cli: > limit_usage hash peername allcalls 0 Why zero? How to use this correctly?

Re: [Freeswitch-users] inefficient build scripts for Debian 8, 32bit packages ?

Thanks Steven and Luis for your lightning fast responses! Reading the man pages for xz was indeed a good suggestion. So with 512MiB RAM, I got away with 6e for the compression level :-) On 19/07/16 20:05, freeswitch-users-request(a)lists.freeswitch.org wrote: > Le 19 juil. 2016 12:24 PM, "Steven Ayre" <steveayre(a)gmail.com> a ?crit : > >> The issue is that xz is compressing with the extreme '9e' compression >> option which is the most resource-hungry. 9e needs 674MB during compression >> (see the table on the xz manpage). Try running it via the util.sh script >> with the -z option to set a much lower compression level (eg 3).

Test Page Faxback LUA Script
by Adrian Thompson 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

Hello! Is there a LUA script floating around out there for a test page faxback feature? 1. Technician calls number from cell phone 2. IVR asks technician to enter fax number 3. Freeswitch sends a test fax page to that number 4. BONUS: Freeswitch transfers the call to the technician's cell phone so he can hear the fax tones We have printer technicians that would use this to ensure that our customer's fax machine is operating correctly. Thanks in advance! Adrian

bind_digits_action regexp
by Luis Azedo 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

Hi Andy, thanks for the help on this. it works as expected. >> Hi, Luis >> >> Looking the FS source code, it will return an “ungreedy” match if you are using a regex and it is your and only bind_digit_action. If this matches your scenario, try adding a 2nd bind_digit_action - it doesn’t matter what it is and it doesn’t need to be a regex (it just needs to be something which won’t interfere with anything else). >> >> So, for example, you could try this: >> >> bind_digit_action(my_domain,'~^\*(\d+)$',exec:execute_extension,MY_EXTENSION XML my_context,both,self) >> bind_digit_action(my_domain,'##',exec:execute_extension,MY_DO_NOTHING_EXTENSION XML my_context,both,self) >> >> I’ve spent quite some time looking at that part of the FS code, so I hope this is helpful.

OS X FreeSWITCH script installer update
by Mario G 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

For interested parties, some updates on OS X wiki, I updated the installer script https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation+on+OS+X+U… <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation+on+OS+X+U…> to now allow testing without an install step. This allows you to install FS and test easily later if you don’t want to test right after the install. This allows you to view the install logs before testing if you desire. It also now looks for Xcode beta and uses that if found. Many other improvements were made, some are listed in the history section of that wiki page. Also, good news, FreeSWITCH will install and work fine (I did minimal testing) on macOS Sierra except for this Xcode 8 problem: For Xcode 8 on Yosemite and Sierra, there is only one minor (I hope) compile error in su_time.c. I created a Jira for it. You can view the OS X testing history https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation+and+Testi… <https://freeswitch.org/confluence/display/FREESWITCH/Installation+and+Testi…> I keep updated so you can see when the issue is fixed. Also archived the separate Xcode install pages for each OS X version. Rolled into the Xcode install section. Feedback is welcome. Mario G

inefficient build scripts for Debian 8, 32bit packages ?
by Peter 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

I am trying to build the Debian 8 packages for a 32bit platform using Stanislav's script. Unfortunately, I experience memory issues when building the sound packages at the point |the .||/debian/rules| |get-orig-||source script is running. After the xs compress tool starts claiming all physical memory, memory swap is increased rapidly to a point that downloading the tar file gets to a hold. |||See below. |I am running the script on a 32bit machine with 512MiB RAM, so resources are relatively low. I am not a shell script whiz, so maybe someone is willing to help with altering the script to work with lower resources, if this seems to be the cause.| Thanks Stanislav Sinyagin for creating and referring me to the script and Michael Jerris for additional comments. 1174 root 20 0 693176 447352 304 D 2.0 87.0 2:56.01 xz root@sip:/usr/src/freeswitch-sounds/music-default# ./debian/rules get-orig-source wget -O ./tmp.cs0qwdwEJ2/upstream.tgz "http://files.freeswitch.org/freeswitch-sounds-music-48000-1.0.51.tar.gz" --2016-07-17 08:04:37-- http://files.freeswitch.org/freeswitch-sounds-music-48000-1.0.51.tar.gz Resolving files.freeswitch.org (files.freeswitch.org) 209.105.235.7, 2607:f348:1021::7 Connecting to files.freeswitch.org (files.freeswitch.org)|209.105.235.7|:80... connected. Strange conference_auto_outcall_announce behaviour ?!
by Anonim Stefan 19 Jul '16

19 Jul '16

Hi, I am using python script and conference_set_auto_outcall application to make a conference group call. When I set "conference_auto_outcall_announce=conference/8000/conf-welcome.wav" in the dialplan, people joining the conference can hear the initial played back audio but can't hear anything else afterwards; people that joined the conference can be heard by the person that joined first. If I remove "conference_auto_outcall_announce=conference/8000/conf-welcome.wav" from dialplan, it all works. I'm using FreeSWITCH Version 1.4.26~64bit and default conference profile. The dialplan for this is pasted at [1]. Am I missing some configuration? Thanks, Stefan [1] http://pastebin.com/84tBFNmw
