I have (or so I thought) installed all dependencies for Lua to connect to a postgres db in freeswitch. When I run the Lua script though I get this message 2014-08-14 08:16:20.832901 [ERR] mod_lua.cpp:203 /usr/local/freeswitch/scripts/db_connect.lua:12: module 'luasql.postgres' not found: no field package.preload['luasql.postgres'] no file './luasql/postgres.lua' no file '/usr/local/share/lua/5.1/luasql/postgres.lua' no file '/usr/local/share/lua/5.1/luasql/postgres/init.lua' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/luasql/postgres.lua' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/luasql/postgres/init.lua' no file './luasql/postgres.so' no file './libluasql/postgres51.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/luasql/postgres.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/libluasql/postgres51.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/loadall.so' no file './luasql.so' no file './libluasql51.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/luasql.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/libluasql51.so' no file '/usr/local/lib/lua/5.1/loadall.so' I do have lua-sql-postgres installed on Debian 7 as well as libpq-dev and all other mentioned packages How do I correct the issue of FreeSWITCH not seeing lua-sql-postgres?

i install freeswitch by 1) rpm -Uvh http://files.freeswitch.org/freeswitch-release-1-0.noarch.rpm 2) yum install --nogpgcheck freeswitch-config-vanilla and 3) yum install freeswitch-v8.x86_64 but there is no "mod_v8.so" in the following path "/usr/lib64/freeswitch/mod/" but "v8.conf.xml" is also in the following directory "/etc/freeswitch/autoload_configs" NOTE: i also enable the v8 module in "modules.conf.xml" file. When i run "load mod_v8" in freeswitch CLI it return the following error switch_loadable_module.c:1448 Error Loading module /usr/lib64/freeswitch/mod/mod_v8.so **/usr/lib64/freeswitch/mod/mod_v8.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory** how can i solve it ?

Freetdm not detecting dtmf on bleg
by satyajeet vyas 18 Aug '14

18 Aug '14

I am writing a script where A calls to FS which connects it to B... Then B dial some extension on (bind_digit_action *1)...I am calling a lua script on *1 which ask for extension and check it in database to fetch the Corresponding number and then connect it(C) with A. Everything is working fine with sofia/gateway. But when i run same code on different server which is using Freetdm then i am unable to get the DTMF(extension) through lua file. I also tried using "start_dtmf" but its not working. Basically i am not getting any DTMF on Bleg (Except *1). So any suggestion..!

Codec change for mod_esf
by Siri MM 18 Aug '14

18 Aug '14

Hi, I am trying to use mod_esf in order to achieve multicast streaming. Wiki says that the packets sent are always G.711 mu-Law/PCMU(8khz). Is there a way I could change this at all? I am looking at L16 48KHz as thats the requirement for my end points. Thanks!

Tony and Andre, Rather than going back and forth on this matter, here are the instructions on how you can find out exactly what is going on. On your target system, make sure you have the sysinternals tools installed, and in your path. This will enable you to use procdump from the command line. When FS gets into the state with an assload of hung threads, use procdump to take a full dump. This will be a very large file. Copy the .dmp file from the target box, to the build box, if they’re the same then forgot about copying it. Now on your build box, open the FS solution in VS. Then in VS from the File->Open menu, open the .DMP file. This will put you in the debugger, just as if you were running FS under a debugger. Check the Threads windows and see if a buttload of threads are all hung in the same place. Double clicking on the thread will push that thread into the call stack window. Now you can see where the thread is hung. If it’s in a kernel call go up the strack till you get to code in FS. Double click on that stack frame, that will open you to the line of source code at the point it got hung. In the source window it’s just like in the debugger. Hover over any variable to see it’s value. This is the same process for doing it under linux, but rather than using GDB you have the full VS GUI debugger experience. Tony, you can quote him the same if he gives you access to the build box, as you would for someone that gave you access to a dump and GDB. Because you most likely will have a lot of threads all hung in the same place, and threads call stack, and source code are in different windows, this should take about 10 minutes to find out what’s going on. --Dave From: freeswitch-users-bounces(a)lists.freeswitch.org [mailto:freeswitch-users-bounces@lists.freeswitch.org] On Behalf Of Anthony Minessale Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2014 2:53 PM To: Freeswitch-users Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] high pdd When you refer to more getting performance as getting it fixed, it strikes a nerve. Start with what I said and test for same results on debian 7 to have clarity if you have a windows specific performance limitation. There might be up to 1 million lines of code difference between windows and *nix. We can't even tell you how much to pay unless we know there is something to change. Also there is no indication you are using realistic traffic to test. All of these details are critical. You should mention windows in your subject to have a better chance to get the attention of our windows users. You should consider installing debian 7 on the same hardware and perform similar tests to help determine if your issue is o/s specific or not. You also have not indicated the revision of FS. If you have not worked with latest master, you should be also to rule out improvements. Then I just get long pdd and the threads get backed up then no more sessions can be created. Funny thing is I has 10 profiles and the same results. I also tried two consoles with the same results. I also have issues in Windows after 1000-1500 ports bridge with 200-300 connect calls and 150 cps. I see a lot of reinvent. I am using imbedded. It's almost like the threading is getting backed up and the events don't fire. I am running in a ram drive with no sql, no cdr and presence not on. Funny thing I found it's not a cps issue but more of port/channels issue. Always failed due to ports but never crash and no errors. Hello, I've been banging my head against the wall for awhile trying to get to the bottom this, with little success. My server is ubuntu 64 bit Ubuntu Linux 12.04.2 running Freeswitch 1.2.18 I set the email variables in the voicemail.xml file, with these results in the log 2014-08-11 20:38:34.878993 [WARNING] switch_xml_config.c:437 Configuration parameter [email_vm-email-all-messages] is unfortunately not valid, you might want to double-check that. 2014-08-11 20:38:34.879003 [WARNING] switch_xml_config.c:437 Configuration parameter [email_vm-attach-file] is unfortunately not valid, you might want to double-check that. 2014-08-11 20:38:34.879008 [WARNING] switch_xml_config.c:437 Configuration parameter [email_vm-mailto] is unfortunately not valid, you might want to double-check that. 2014-08-11 20:38:34.879016 [WARNING] switch_xml_config.c:437 Configuration parameter [email_vm-keep-local-after-email] is unfortunately not valid, you might want to double-check that. the relevant snippet in the voicemail.conf.xml file <param name="notify-template-file" value="notify-voicemail.tpl"/> <param name="vm-email-all-messages" value="true"/> <param name="vm-attach-file" value="true"/> <param name="vm-mailto" value="zook(a)millcreekmfg.com"/> Anybody see where this is coming from? the voicemail to email doesn't work at all, it ignores the settings completely.

Network Card
by Andre 15 Aug '14

Hi, is there anything special with the network card to get 10,000 sessions in media bypass mode with FreeSwitch? Will a Gig E be enough bandwidth? What would it look like if the network card couldn’t keep up and how can I verify the network card is the bottleneck? Thanks Andre
