How to terminate a dialog if I do not have uuid?
by Mino Haluz 31 Dec '13

Hi, what could be the most efficient way to terminate dialog with RPC when all I have are only inbound/outbound CallIDs? There is uuid_kill command, but it requires uuids of channels. Thanks, Mino

New JavaScript module using Google V8!
by Peter Olsson 31 Dec '13

31 Dec '13

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I've been testing out some Google V8 embedding at home, and since I was at it I decided to try to port mod_spidermonkey to use Google V8 instead. A few years back this wasn't possible, since V8 wasn't thread safe - but this has changed, and it works as expected using isolates and lockers inside. RIght now I've ported everything to work as before, but using Google V8 instead of SpiderMonkey. I've tested some basic stuff, and it seems ok so far - but I do have quite some more testing I need to do. Also, the build system is not really completed yet, so some manual work is needed to compile everything. I've developed it on Windows, but it should be able to compile on Linux without any major issues (I will try that pretty soon as well). I'm guessing this would make JavaScript to be a little more efficient than today, however, I didn't really do any performance testing yet. Even though Lua is the recommended scripting language in FS, I think JS always will have quite some users, since it's more widely spread. One thing though, is that it currently lacks support for the "File" and "XML" object that is currently compiled in when you use mod_spidermonkey - besides that everything else should be the same. Is this project of interest for the FS community? For me this was just a way to get to use V8 in an environment I already knew, so as soon as I'm getting it a bit more complete (with a working build system at least) I'd be happy to give away the code - and hopefully replace mod_spidermonkey in the future. /Peter

How to measure Round-Trip-Delay between client and FS
by adahary 31 Dec '13

31 Dec '13

The FS uses the 'nat-options-ping' to keep the client natted hole open BUT it does not provide the round-trip-delay of the sent message. Is there a way to send a kind of SIP/OPTION messge from the FS to a specific remote client (not a global setup) and measure the round-trip-delay of that message? by Arya Farzan 31 Dec '13

Hello I have never used FreeSWITCH and I've become interested in it since it has a mod called mod_sms. I'm not clear if it can meet my needs. I want to buy voip DIDs and configure Freeswitch to receive SMS messages. Would this be possible with Freeswitch with mod_sms? Regards!

FusionPBX/FreeSWITCH : Wrong context is being used for outbound calls
by juned 31 Dec '13

31 Dec '13

Hi All, I am having issue with Outbound calls. I am not writing confguration in XML instead of that i am writing configs in database, for that i am following below link. http://wiki.fusionpbx.com/index.php?title=XML_Handler I have created and extension and gateway, but contect is being changed when i am making outbound calls. By enabling the debug logs i have found the issue with context. Wrong context is being selected for calls. Below are the logs in which in query it selects public as context but in actual XML file it shows correct context. [xml_handler] SQL: select * from v_dialplans as d, v_dialplan_details as s where d.dialplan_context = 'public' and d.dialplan_enabled = 'true' and d.dialplan_uuid = s.dialplan_uuid order by d.dialplan_order asc, d.dialplan_name asc, d.dialplan_uuid asc, s.dialplan_detail_group asc, CASE s.dialplan_detail_tag WHEN 'condition' THEN 1 WHEN 'action' THEN 2 WHEN 'anti-action' THEN 3 ELSE 100 END, s.dialplan_detail_order asc 2013-12-31 16:58:00.814654 [NOTICE] switch_cpp.cpp:1288 [xml_handler] dialplan:public source: database <variables> <variable name="domain_uuid" value="49768d38-6da7-4a40-a424-4ec379954ebd"/> <variable name="domain_name" value="abc.test.com"/> <variable name="extension_uuid" value="86f14c1d-0e67-4e86-b3bc-d3e54782a67f"/> <variable name="caller_id_name" value="123456"/> <variable name="caller_id_number" value="123456"/> <variable name="accountcode" value="7681006065"/> <variable name="user_context" value="abc.test.com"/> <variable name="directory-visible" value="true"/> <variable name="directory-exten-visible" value="true"/> <variable name="limit_max" value="5"/> <variable name="record_stereo" value="true"/> <variable name="transfer_fallback_extension" value="operator"/> <variable name="export_vars" value="domain_name"/> </variables> What could be the issue ? why wrong context is being selected for extensions ? Thanks Juned Khan -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/FusionPBX-FreeSWITCH-Wrong-co… Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[OT] How do I port my home phone number to a SIP address?
by Jun Sun 30 Dec '13

30 Dec '13

Hi, guys, This might be a little off topic, but I think many experts here may know this already. :) I have a VOIP server set up and running. Now I start to think how to port my home phone number to this server. Basically what I want is if someone calls my home phone number I like to see a SIP connection to my own VOIP server. Currently I'm using bbtalk as my home phone service. I'm pretty much sure they don't provide this service. Who would be able to provide this service? I live in USA. Thanks in advance. Jun

Outbound call with password
by baskar 30 Dec '13

30 Dec '13

Hi All, How to fetch password from MySQL through dialplan in freeswitch. In MySQL i have table name with "ext_passwd" in that 1001 password is 4587. How to enable outbound call with password protected. If i need to make a outbound call from extension say 1001 to some toll free number. When i dial it should prompt for password. If password successful outbound should be enabled or else it should be Hangup. As off now there is no restriction on outbound calls. Through prefix calls are routed to make outbound calls. Can some one assist me how to fetch data from MySQL in dialplan. Thanks, N.Baskar -- View this message in context: http://freeswitch-users.2379917.n2.nabble.com/Outbound-call-with-password-t… Sent from the freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Help with Registration Failed with status DNS Error [503]
by Jim Lynch 29 Dec '13

29 Dec '13

Every few days FS stops working with that error. Here's a sofia log level all 9 log. http://pastebin.com/CmhY84W9 DNS works fine from the command line. It's Ubuntu 12.04 FS stable. A restart of FS resolves the problem but that can't be a permanent fix. Thanks, Jim.

answer via .net esl is getting ignored
by Yisroel M. Olewski 29 Dec '13

29 Dec '13

Hello everyone This is my first posting via the mailing list I'm trying my hand at freeswitch esl with .net I've managed to get a hold of all incoming events, but can't seem to "pick up the phone" my first goal is to pick up the phone and read out some text via tts I've scoured the web, tried everything I can find or think of but no luck here's my code Private Sub winMain_Loaded(sender As Object, e As RoutedEventArgs) Handles Me.Loaded ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(New WaitCallback(Sub(stateInfo) FreeSwitch = New ESLconnection("10.0.0.1", 8021, "mypass") Dim eslEvent = FreeSwitch.SendRecv("event plain ALL") FreeSwitch.SendRecv("event plain DTMF") If eslEvent IsNot Nothing Then AddEvent(eslEvent) While FreeSwitch.Connected eslEvent = FreeSwitch.RecvEvent AddEvent(eslEvent) End While End If End Sub)) End Sub Private Sub AddEvent(e As ESLevent) Dim dd = TextCollection(e.Serialize(""), ": ", vbLf) Dim eventname = dd("event-name") 'Dim uid = dd("Unique-ID") Dim uid = dd("Channel-Call-UUID") If dd("Caller-Network-Addr") <> "" Then Dim dcx = DBEntities() Dim ses = dcx.Sessions.SingleOrDefault(Function(x) x.ServerCode = uid) Dim ChannelState = dd("Channel-State") Dim ChannelCallState = dd("Channel-Call-State").ToLower Select Case eventname Case "CHANNEL_STATE" If ses Is Nothing Then ses = New Session dcx.Sessions.AddObject(ses) End If ses.CallerHost = dd("Caller-Network-Addr") ses.CallerName = UrlDecoded(dd("Caller-Caller-ID-Name")) ses.CallerPhone = dd("Caller-Caller-ID-Number") ses.CallerUser = dd("Caller-Username") ses.CalleeUser = dd("Caller-Destination-Number") ses.ServerCode = uid If {"cs_destroy", "cs_hangup"}.Contains(ChannelState) Then ses.HungUpOn = Now Case "CHANNEL_CALLSTATE" If ChannelCallState = "ringing" Then Dim evn = FreeSwitch.Execute("answer", String.Empty, uid) Dim res = evn.Serialize("") End If Case "CHANNEL_DESTROY" If ses IsNot Nothing Then ses.HungUpOn = Now End Select dcx.SaveChanges() End If End Sub the answer line is getting reached, and the result is "+OK" but the phone still keeps ringing please note that I'm unsure which is the correct uuid, but trying both of them gave me identical results As per advise from Nuwan Wijerathne, I put the "answer" action in the dialplan, and tried just the playback from code (just a wav file), but the result is the same. Freeswitch ignores entirely my commands. It picks up, and immediately hangs up because it has finished the whole dialplan I'd appreciate your help. I'm pretty new to freeswitch and esl Please advise Sincerely, ymo
