Static and Scratchy Audio
by James Mortensen 15 Nov '13

15 Nov '13

Hello, I have two FreeSWITCH 1.4b servers running on Amazon EC2. Starting yesterday, the call quality suddenly got so bad that callers from the PSTN can't hear the other person talking. The setup is Chrome WebRTC -> FreeSWITCH -> PSTN (Level 3/Bandwidth.com) We've cleared all users off the server and are trying to find out the cause. We're not dropping packets on the server or the client, yet there's problems with the audio. The audio issues occur with both servers, regardless of how many active calls there are. We don't have a problem with Chrome to Chrome peer to peer calls, so it seems like it's a problem inside FreeSWITCH. Here's what we've tried: - Checking for dropped packets - Restarting FreeSWITCH - Moving all users to another server so we test only with 1 active call. - Trying calls with both Level 3 as well as Bandwidth.com trunk providers. Does anyone have some ideas on what we can try next? Thank you! James

New Freeswitch User, Installation Issues.....
by Don Ireland 15 Nov '13

15 Nov '13

I followed the guide at the following link for installing Freeswitch on my Raspberry Pi. http://raspberrypipbx.blogspot.com/2012/12/using-google-voice-as-land-line.… But when I get to the point of actually starting Freeswitch (manually -- still not doing it upon boot up), it just hangs. Ironically it hangs at a line that says it's "Adding Application 'AvoidingDeadlock'". It's been like this for about an hour now. I've rebooted and restarted Freeswitch twice. What can I do? -- Don Ireland

Hi, When call is being trasfered in MS lync I noticed very bad media quality. I have trace this with whireshak, so I could here which side is causing this. I noticed that MS lync is sending ok RTP but when auto is send from FS to UAC, RTP is broken. For now I have used proxy_media. I can send you whole sip trace with rtp. Please let me know how can I fix this. p.s.: sip signaling is ok. br, miha

shared line music on hold problem
by Simone 14 Nov '13

14 Nov '13

Hi all, recently I have installed the latest version of Freeswitch (1.2.14) and I have found the following Issue. If I call an extension connected to only a phone and transfer the call I can hear the music on hold. Instead when I call a Shared line (extension shared between two phones) and I try to transfer the call I can't hear the music on hold. I think is something related to the configuration of the shared line because with a normal line works good. Does someone have an Idea about what is going wrong? I attach both logs of when I try to call a shared line and when i try to call a normal line. Best Regards Simone
