RecordFile returns prematurely
by Dan 02 Sep '10

Hi guys, I'm having a slight issue with session.recordFile in javascript and session:recordFile in lua (i have tried both just to rule out the vm implementation). Basically every now and then (say 500 or 1000 calls) record.session ends prematurely, there are no errors in the logs, it just returns and because this is the last line in my script (lua or javascript) the call ends and I see: 2010-08-31 12:52:08.469761 [NOTICE] switch_core_state_machine.c:185 sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 has executed the last dialplan instruction, hanging up. 2010-08-31 12:52:08.469761 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:2309 (sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5) Callstate Change ACTIVE -> HANGUP 2010-08-31 12:52:08.469761 [NOTICE] switch_core_state_machine.c:187 Hangup sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 [CS_EXECUTE] [NORMAL_CLEARING] 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] switch_channel.c:2325 Send signal sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 [KILL] 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] switch_core_session.c:1039 Send signal sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 [BREAK] 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:348 (sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5) State EXECUTE going to sleep 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:314 (sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5) Running State Change CS_HANGUP 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] switch_core_state_machine.c:535 (sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5) State HANGUP 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:453 Channel sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 hanging up, cause: NORMAL_CLEARING 2010-08-31 12:52:08.473766 [DEBUG] mod_sofia.c:496 Sending BYE to sofia/external/nobody(a)192.168.21.5 I am only passing one argument, the wav file, so it should record forever or until the call is hung up externally (I believe those are the defaults from looking at source). I'm on FreeSWITCH Version 1.0.head (git-a7c80ae 2010-08-02 16-06-46 -0500), I wish I had more logging or some indication of why the record function is ending prematurely. Is there any anything that others might know why this would return. As a quick fix, is there a way I could check to see if the call is still going and call session:recordFile again and append to the existing UL file?

Invalid application valet_park?
by Lars Zeb 02 Sep '10

http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/13782 Working through the FreeSWITCH book on page 61, had a conversation going, hit the transfer soft-button on phone, dialed 6001 and tried to retrieve call, but could not. It looked like call was on hold. Any ideas on what I might have done wrong? Thanks, Lars

by Adolfo Delorenzo 01 Sep '10

Hello, I am not receiving incoming calls via enum (my ITAD is 1325) and if someone calls for example myextension@mydomain. Where in the documentation can I learn how to enable incoming calls? Thanks

Early Media troubles
by Jock McKechnie 01 Sep '10

01 Sep '10

Good arvo, all; I'm battling with a problem in making Early Media play and getting nowhere. I've searched the wiki, forums and the web in general without anything that seems to help. This suggests to me that I'm either doing something stupendously stupid, or there's a very, very odd thing going on here. I've been tasked with something that should be fairly simple: Accept an inbound call Play a specific audio file as early media Pickup the call after a certain time interval Play another audio file into the off-hook channel Disconnect the call. Sounds simple. My extension looks like so: <extension name="Inbound"> <condition field="destination_number" expression="^\+12125551212$"> <action application="pre_answer"/> <action application="set" data="ringback=/usr/local/freeswitch/sounds/early-media.wav"/> <action application="sleep" data="10000"/> <action application="answer"/> <action application="playback" data="/usr/local/freeswitch/sounds/playback"/> <action application="hangup" data="16"/> </condition> </extension> (Replace the 212 number with a real inbound DID which is being routed from Verizon (via SIP) to this FreeSWITCH machine) The call is received, a 183 is sent by FreeSWITCH (pre_answer), it waits the 10 seconds, picks up the call and plays the playback.PCMU file... but there's no early media. I've tcpdumped on the FS machine and verified it definitely is /not/ sending out RTP until the call 200 OKs and the Playback begins. As you can see, I've also attempted to replace the ringback= to a cadence instead of a WAV file, just to ensure it isn't unhappy with the WAV format, with the same results. Boy, I'd sure love it if someone could point out what potentially brain damaged thing I'm doing (assuming it's nothing arcane). My thanks to all; - Jock

mod_h323: call deferred due to unsuccessfull dns lookup
by Nikolay Kondratyev 01 Sep '10

01 Sep '10

Hi all, i found the following problem with mod_h323: When i make outgoing call via h323, there is a 10 seconds delay before the call is sent out, via h323. I believe it happens because fs tries to resolve _h323cs._tcp.172.23.14.2 srv record. Here is a fragment of a log file: 2010-09-01 12:02:17.144778 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:1564 ======>create_outgoing_channel DST NUMBER = 5840(a)172.23.14.2 2010-09-01 12:02:17.144778 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:1532 ======>FSH323EndPoint::FSMakeCall DST NUMBER = 5840(a)172.23.14.2 [FSH323EndPoint] 2010-09-01 12:02:17.144778 [DEBUG] mod_h323.cpp:1544 ----> Using 172.23.22.49 for outbound call 2010-09-01 12:02:17.144778 [DEBUG] pdns.cxx:498 SRV Lookup 172.23.14.2 service _h323cs._tcp. 2010-09-01 12:02:27.402216 [DEBUG] pdns.cxx:471 SRV Lookup Fail no domain h323:5840@172.23.14.2 2010-09-01 12:02:27.402216 [DEBUG] h323ep.cxx:2353 DNS SRV Cannot resolve remote party 5840(a)172.23.14.2 2010-09-01 12:02:27.402216 [DEBUG] h323ep.cxx:2141 Making call to: 5840(a)172.23.14.2 And i can also see this looking into the network trace with wireshark. So one can see a 10 seconds delay due to failed dns lookup. I use FS 1.0.6. My h323.conf and dialplan are just like those described in the wiki http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_h323 As far as i understand, if ip address (not name) is specified, srv lookup should not be performed. Is it correct? What could be done to make FS not to lookup this srv record (when ip address, not name, is specified)? Thanks in advance, Nikolay.
