collect digits during conference
by Woody Dickson 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

Hi, I would like to be able to collect dtmf digits when a caller is inside a conference. The use case is to let people inside a conference to be able to invite other party by pressing "#6043434333#". Following the instruction, I am able to play a tone and execute play_and_get_digits after # is pressed, but I can't make it so that when the digits are pressed, the other control action won't be triggered. Does anyone know a good way to solve this problem? Thanks, Woody

conference relate question
by covici＠ccs.covici.com 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

HI. I thought I heard on a conference call -- possibly the vuc one -- that I could have one conference talk to only one or a group of them, without the other hearing them, but I can't find such a thing under mod_conference. I was looking at the relate command, but how would I use that to accomplish what I am trying to do? Thanks. -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? John Covici covici(a)ccs.covici.com

Hangup after originate?
by Malay Thakershi 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

Hello, I plan to call Originate API from managed ESL (.NET). 1. How can I detect if a call isn't answered (it keeps ringing on the other end) for say 2 minutes? I would like the command to end the call after that much time. 2. How do I listen to events (say I fire Originate and then would like to know sequence of events happening regarding that particular call)? Any help is good.

Need help testing GV features
by Michael Collins 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

Hello all! Tony is at it again. He's added the ability to have incoming calls from a GV account go to your FreeSWITCH system! I've added some instructions on this page: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Google_Voice I need people who have GV accounts to test this out. You'll need to install gnutls and gnutls-devel in order to use mod_dingaling for this. Be sure to load gnutls and then rebuild mod_dingaling. Please test out and give me your feedback. I can consistently make outbound calls but inbound calls have been hit and miss for me. (I think I have a network issue which is why I want some others to try things out.) Please let me know how if you are able to make it work. If you have improvements to the docs then by all means add them. When I get this all polished off I will blast it out over the 'Net. :) Thanks! -Michael

New to the list
by Jody Rudolph 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm sure I'll be posting here often looking for opinions. I have recently started a large project to create a scalable, fault-tolerant, and entirely open source communications platform and my intention is to use Freeswitch for the core of this system. I'm really excited about what I have seen from Freeswitch so far. I come from a big Asterisk background in the old days but have spent the last 5 years in proprietary voice systems prison :) My main areas of focus right now are distributed call processing via core-odbc (possibly memcached?) with load balancing and tight integration with an openSER variant doing the balancing. I am hoping to be able to use the SER (probably opensips) to handle registrations and NAT traversal to keep the load from the core servers. I will post that question in a different thread though. Also, I'm not much of a C programmer so core development is probably out, but I would be happy to contribute to the project in any way I can with testing, documentation, or script contribution. Thanks, -Jody

Problems with sqlite on 32bit CentOS
by Helmut Kuper 07 Sep '10

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I have a freshly checked out FS code base (git). bootsrapping, configuring, compiling and installing went smoothly. It's a "Linux ippbx-test-node0 2.6.18-194.11.3.el5 #1 SMP Mon Aug 30 16:23:24 EDT 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux" CentOS 5.5 Pentium4 system. When it starts up, I get a lot of error messages about accessing/creating sqlite database tables. This error occurs on updated installations as well as on fresh installations. It occurs on existing database files and also when all db files were removed befor start up. I have an old SVN trunk version "FreeSWITCH Version 1.0.trunk (16134M)" which works fine on the same machine. On my CentOS 5.4 64bit machines the latest git head works nice. Integration with an external registrar
by Jody Rudolph 07 Sep '10

07 Sep '10

I know one could look up authentication information stored elsewhere via xml_curl but a simple scenario there would involve a registration message triggering this process. Since a separate registrar would likely consume the registration message I am curious what backend process could be used to share this information and trigger the event so the FS server actually held an active registration while the registrar actually dealt with the load of the registration messages. The registrar would be one of the openSER variants in this case. Has anyone heard of any projects using a separate registrar while keeping the actual registrations active in FS to enable all feature use like SLA, BLF, etc? Thanks, Jody Rudolph
