Executing a JavaScript application during startup
by David Swardstrom 03 Aug '10

03 Aug '10

Is there a way to cause a JavaScript script to be executed during FreeSWITCH initialization? Actually, what I want to do is to add a table to the SQLite DB and populate it with some data that I will use later in a JavaScript application. I could do this some other ways, but the ability to initialize some system wide data during startup using JavaScript would be useful. I do know some techniques that I could use which I don't really want to use: * The JavaScript application that I am using could try to determine if this is the first time, and do any initialization. Sounds reasonable, but could encounter a race condition with a 2nd call. * I do plan to have an Erlang program running which uses mod_erlang_event. I could use it, but there is a possibility that a call could come in before the Erlang program starts or some other race condition. I could write a special module to do this, but wonder if there is a way to do this. Regards, David Swardstrom (profile)http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/User:Dswardstrom

Solved: problem making outbound calls to service provider
by Jason White 03 Aug '10

03 Aug '10

First, apologies are due for not continuing the original thread; I was interacting with the mailing list via gmane.org and the recent messages, including mine, don't appear to have propagated to the newsgroup. I solved my difficulty with making outbound calls to my ISP's SIP service. The problem turned out to be the MTU setting of my ppp0 interface: reducing it to 1496 bytes allowed the FreeSWITCH invite packet (with the md5 authentication) to be fragmented and received by the remote side.

Hello Sky1975, Were you able to solve your problem re: nibblebill not cutting off the call when the credits are empty? Hi Ram, I can't seem to access the site you pointed out http://svn.freeswitch.org/svn/freeswitch/trunk/contrib/diegoviola/ would you happen to know how I can get to the said pre-paid samples? Setting up a calling station in Addis Ababa
by jprsa 03 Aug '10

03 Aug '10

Hello, I am travelling to Addis Ababa in a few weeks and i would like to know if anyone has used freeswitch services from ethiopia. I set up my freeswitch servers in the US and in HK and I would like some advice re: connecting to my servers using softphones or ATAs while I am in Addis Ababa. I am not sure if the ISPs in Addis Ababa will let my packets through. Thanks jprsa -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Setting-up-a-calling-station-in-Addis-Ababa-tp2933139… Sent from the Freeswitch-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Freeswitch Crashed by ODBC32.dll
by xuyan yang 02 Aug '10

02 Aug '10

I have a javascript run every 30 seconds to invoke 5 other javascript through "apiExecute". Each of these 5 script is simple and only do 3-5 of SQL commands through ODBC and it works fine in short time. But when I leave it overnight, I got a crash report in the morning showing the crashing module is odbc32.dll. The system I am using is win xp. odbc32.dll is provided by Microsoft. Is it really Microsoft's bug or something wrong in FS? As odbc32.dll has been so widely used for many years, it should not be so fragile.

Module build problem with wanpipe
by Jim 02 Aug '10

02 Aug '10

I'm installing the latest wanpipe drivers and it's not working. I'm wondering where he's getting the linux source name in this warning from? There is no directory in /usr/src/linux or /lib/moduels that matches it. In fact, locate doesn't match it either. There are no strings in the wanpipe source tree that match either. Where's it coming from? WARNING: Module installation dir mismatch! Linux source name = 2.6.31.12 Current image name = 2.6.31-21-generic

T.38_gateway & switch_core_media_bug : increase "timeout"
by Weera Suriya 01 Aug '10

01 Aug '10

Hello list, I able to send & receive faxes via SS7 link. but I have a small problem with "switch_core_media_bug". I noticed "Media bug" activate for first 10 seconds to 20 seconds against SIP channels. most of our customers use Tele/FAX option on Fax machines. that means ; they answer the call manually (as a voice call) If there was a fax then they activate Fax mode. the problem is FS can't detect CNG tones after 20 seconds, because "switch_core_media_bug" was removed from the particular channels. If the destination fax machine can generate CNG tones within 10 ~ 20 seconds Then FS can detect CNG tones and change in to T.38 mode. is there any way to increase the window of time (switch_core_media_bug) to listen for the CNG tones on SIP channels?
