Anyone know a provider for LRN lookups for ported numbers in NANPA? Preferably someone who can provide the whole database, or flat rates for a month of lookups. Essobi

xml_curl and gateways
by Peter P GMX 21 Feb '11

21 Feb '11

According to http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_xml_curl I'v tried to set up gateways dynamically, but I do net get it to work: I always get : "Invalid profile" My assumptions for a right xml answer back to FS are as follows, but I think at least one of it is false: 1. ) I start with <document type='freeswitch/xml'> <section name='configuration'> <configuration name='sofia.conf' description='RailsAdditionalConf'> 2.) I do not want to change settings, so I do NOT add a <settings> tag 3.) I want to enhance an existing profile, so I add a profile tag (<profile name='external'>) 4.) I assume that I can have an existing profile "external" in the xml conf files and can mix additional parts dynamically into the same profile 5.) Within the profile I want to add gateways, so I add a gateway tag (<gateways>) 6.) Then I add the gateways 7.) I add the closing tags Which one of the assumptions if wrong? The request I receive is as follows: {"key_name"=>"name", "action"=>"directory", "tag_name"=>"configuration", "key_value"=>"sofia.conf", "controller"=>"xml_curls", "hostname"=>"freeswitch", "section"=>"configuration"} I only answer once at startup with the follwing: <document type='freeswitch/xml'> <section name='configuration'> <configuration name='sofia.conf' description='RailsAdditionalConf'> <profile name='external'> <gateways> <gateway name="freeswitch2"> <param name="username" value="1007"/> <param name="realm" value="192.168.0.56:5061"/> <param name="password" value="xxxx"/> <param name="proxy" value="192.168.0.56"/> <param name="expire-seconds" value="30"/> <param name="register" value="true"/> <param name="register-transport" value="tls"/> <param name="retry-seconds" value="30"/> </gateway> </gateways> </profile> </configuration> </section> </document> Does anybody have a correct XML answer for a gateway and can post it? Best regards Peter

Call Recording
by Jerry Richards 18 Feb '11

18 Feb '11

Does the *2 DTMF method still work for recording calls? I recall this working before without needing to make changes to the dialplan XML, but right now it does not appear to work on the Sep 20 Freeswitch trunk. Thanks, Jerry

Doxygen help
by Yossi Neiman 08 Feb '11

08 Feb '11

I am not sure how many folks make use of the Doxygen documentation. I know I do all the time. I find that it provides a nice conceptual view of FreeSWITCH's API, which can make it very easy to find the functions and data types needed for writing modules for FreeSWITCH. A person by the name of Mohammad Shahzad (apologies if I misspelled it) started to do a lot of work on revamping the Doxygen configuration for FreeSWITCH a few months back. The problem with the work that he did was that he used Doxygen 1.6.x specific configuration parameters that are not understood by the Doxygen 1.4.x tree (which is what we currently use in FreeSWITCH) or even the 1.5.x tree which is what is in Slackware. In my discussions with Michael Collins we have decided that it might not hurt to go ahead and move the Doxygen version forward to match the 1.6.x tree. We are looking for somebody who has interest in working with the Doxygen configuration to continue the work that Mohammad had started and to help the project out. If you are such a person, please contact me off-list and I can provide further information. Thanks! Yossi Neiman

Freeswitch and mysql
by Antonio 06 Feb '11

06 Feb '11

Hello, I asked and more I searched, I found nothing, how to integrate FreeSwitch with mysql. Some time ago I found Asterisk-realtime and wanted to know if there is something similar in FreeSwitch. Is to avoid double configurations, for example if there is a conference room that can be accessed from multiple servers, etc. I'm new in FreeSwitch and I have much knowledge ;-) Does anyone have any url or book on how to do? Lua?. Thanks. Greetings

Send email on successful fax sending.
by Marc de Corny 28 Jan '11

28 Jan '11

Hi all, I have got all the inbound fax working and can get FS to send outbound fax from the shell by using the commands : /opt/freeswitch/bin/fs_cli \ --execute="originate {fax_verbose=true}$DEST &txfax($TMPFAX)" as in the wiki However I'm looking for a way of notifying the sender on the success or failure of the fax emission. Is there a way of getting a result back from that command like fax_success 0/1 that will allow me then to send the relevant emails out ? Any help is much appreciated. thanks Marc

Using "Reason" from hangup
by Ross McKillop 19 Jan '11

19 Jan '11

I have a FreeSWITCH box acting as a gateway between other servers and a TDM switch, primarily for accounting purposes - The TDM switch accurately sets a Reason header as follows; > SIP/2.0 480 Temporarily Unavailable. > Reason: Q.850;cause=31. This is then passed by FreeSWITCH back to the A party as > SIP/2.0 480 Temporarily Unavailable. > Reason: Q.850;cause=16;text="NORMAL_CLEARING". Is there any way to get FreeSWITCH to use the Reason header from the failed B leg when replying to the A party ? I tried setting continue_on_fail=true and hangup_after_bridge=false and then adding a line after the bridge in the dialplan to hangup with the bridge hangup cause e.g.; > <action application="hangup" data="${bridge_hangup_cause}" /> But that hasn't affected the behaviour at all. Regards, Ross

Sharing storage between servers
by Jody Rudolph 17 Jan '11

17 Jan '11

I am curious as to just how far you can take sharing disk storage for the purpose of clustering. Is anyone doing this with the voicemail storage directories? Is it possible to share the SQLite internal databases to avoid resorting to ODBC? I realize that isn't likely, but I have access to some high performance SAN hardware and want to take the most advantage possible. Thanks, Jody Rudolph
