by Peter P GMX 06 Aug '08

Has anybody successfulkly tested a Softphone that works with TLS/SRTP and Freeswitch? - I tried Minisip (I think it works with MIKEY) - no success - I tried Zoiper Biz - it did not like to connect via TLS (any hints?) - more ?? Best regards Peter

Directory and UserAgent Registration
by mayamatakeshi 06 Aug '08

06 Aug '08

Hello, I'm a little confused with FreeSWITCH behavior. At http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/XML_User_Directory_Guide we can read: "The directory section is used to add accounts for all users that should be able to register in the pbx by using User Agents (SIP Phones)." So I suppose I should provide one xml file for each user. But it seems FreeSWITCH lets anyone to register with it, ignoring username/password, checking only the domain. I mean, I can set anything as username/password in my sip phone and as long as the domain is correct, FreeSWITCH will let me register. Is this a bug or am I missing something in my configuration files? I'm testing with the most recent revision 9225, but I can see the same happens with previous versions. Regards, takeshi

web voice mail interface / web-vm.tpl
by John Wehle 05 Aug '08

05 Aug '08

I'm looking for a web interface to listen to / delete voicemail messages. I see web-vm.tpl, however I'm not sure what to do with it. How do I go about getting a page which prompts for user id / password, logs in, displays a list of messages, and allows for play back / deleting a message? I'm not adverse to doing some scripting / web page development, however I'd prefer a pointer in the right direction and I'm also not looking to reinvent the wheel. -- John ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Feith Systems | Voice: 1-215-646-8000 | Email: john(a)feith.com | | John Wehle | Fax: 1-215-540-5495 | | -------------------------------------------------------------------------

IPv6 capable?
by Rick Giliberti 05 Aug '08

05 Aug '08

I would rather avoid using NAT traversal techniques and prefer to use IPv6 to get a public address. Does FreeSWITCH support IPv6 on 32-bit Windows? If not, is there a timeframe when it may be implemented?

Trying to call a remote extension at a remote FS

Forked dialing and CDRs
by Rupa Schomaker (lists) 05 Aug '08

05 Aug '08

I'm using XML CDRs, posting to a rails app to capture and display CDR records. Incoming calls are forked to both internal extensions and external cell phones. The mapping is looked up in the DB via a javascript call which hands back a dialstring similar to: 2008-08-05 10:09:21 [INFO] mod_dptools.c:862 log_function() dial_string={ignore_early_media=true}sofia/internal/101%192.168.1.20,sofia/internal/102%192.168.1.20,sofia/loopback/CELL%192.168.1.20:5061 The sofia/internal/##%domain works as expected. I get one CDR with everything stacked up in the XML. The sofia/loopback/##@domain:5061 generates a new CDR. This is expected but is a pain in the rear since it means that I have to cross-correlated log entries to show the one that one the race and suppress/roll up the rest. Ok, so why don't I do: sofia/gateway/mygateway/cellnumber%domain ? Because I want to do other work before dialing out the gateway and to centralize the work done for that dialout. Specifically, I do real-time rating to determine which actual gateway to route the call through and also handle failover if a particular gateway doesn't terminate the call with an expected error code. There is a level of abstraction missing here I think. The transfer application does exactly what I want to do. I give it a context and a # and it routes the call as expected. But transfer can't handle forked dialing. For that I need bridge. The bridge application can fork but requires too much knowledge about the transport/gateway/etc. Thoughts?
