how to configure freeSwitch with Open SBC
by Dinesh Dialani 23 Aug '07

23 Aug '07

Hi All, I want to configure my freeswitch with Open SBC (using as Sip Proxy) for inbound and outbound call using Gafachi Voip Provider. Although FreeSwitch alone is working fine with Gafachi. It creates problem with Register request. It sends REGISTER sip:192.168.96.115 (IPp on which Open SBC is running) instead of REGISTER sip:gafachi . Can anybody help me to configure freeswitch to work with both Open SBC and Gafachi. Thanks in Advance. Dinesh Dialani

ask to change header in api response
by Tamas Cseke 23 Aug '07

23 Aug '07

Hello Maybe a stupid request, but i realized that the header of events and api responses differs a bit. Exactly the order of Content-Length and Content-Type headers are different. I would like to ask to unify this, because it would help me a lot in parsing the data in the socket. Please review the attached small patch if possible. Thanks in advance, Tamas Index: src/mod/event_handlers/mod_event_socket/mod_event_socket.c =================================================================== --- src/mod/event_handlers/mod_event_socket/mod_event_socket.c (revision 5646) +++ src/mod/event_handlers/mod_event_socket/mod_event_socket.c (working copy) @@ -551,7 +551,7 @@ switch_size_t rlen, blen; char buf[1024] = ""; rlen = strlen(reply); - snprintf(buf, sizeof(buf), "Content-Type: api/response\nContent-Length: %" SWITCH_SSIZE_T_FMT "\n\n", rlen); + snprintf(buf, sizeof(buf), "Content-Length: %" SWITCH_SSIZE_T_FMT "\nContent-Type: api/response\n\n", rlen); blen = strlen(buf); switch_socket_send(acs->listener->sock, buf, &blen); switch_socket_send(acs->listener->sock, reply, &rlen);

Creation of custom softphone
by Kutman.DK＠forces.gc.ca 22 Aug '07

22 Aug '07

Hello, I am looking to create a softphone with a custom GUI. I noticed "Freeswitch" on one of the VOIP-User forums. I am looking to create this softphone using Eclipse with Java programming. The system I was originally looking to use was an Asterisk server (Trixbox) with the softphones written in Java languange using Jain SIP and JMF for session initiation and the transfer of the audio in a call, respectively. I am not too familiar with "Freeswitch" unfortunately, so I am not sure about the best way to create my desired system. Would someone be able to provide me with some advice in regards to the system. If I have not provided enough detail please let me know and I can be more specific. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks Denis

Executing Javascript before a call's answered
by David Knell 22 Aug '07

22 Aug '07

Hi - I'm trying to build a simple switching application, controlled by a bit of Javascript, but I'm stuck on how to avoid answering the inbound leg until the outbound one's answered - ideally, I want to be able to ship early media from the outbound leg back to the original caller until the outbound leg's answered, and then (and only then) answer the inbound one. Problem is that the inbound leg is answered before my Javascript's called, as far as I can tell, which leaves me a bit stumped. Any pointers as to what I should do gratefully received. Thanks -- Dave

Thanks for the contribution. We can add it to trunk and maybe if you are lucky someone else will add to it / finish it. Or at least it will be maintained until you can work on it more. We can assign commit access for you to the folder once we add it to trunk. I can't work anymore on it for at least a month, and there are som users waiting for a socket module. Therefore it would be nice to add it to the trunk so that others can complete it (or at least test it). It currently got the following methods: connect, close, send, readBytes, read. The question is: Should I create a patch for it and document it in the wiki? Or should I wait until I can complete it. Note! It's completely untested. usage: var socket = new Socket(); socket.connect("hostname", 1234"); var line = socket.read(); socket.send("this is something\n"); The read method takes a delimiter and do not return until the delimiter have been received (or the connection have been dropped). The default delimiter is "\n". The readBytes method reads the number of specified bytes. I've only made a TCP socket implementation. For simplicity, maybe there should be two socket classes. One for UDP and one for Tcp. //Jonas _______________________________________________ Freeswitch-users mailing list Freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users UNSUBSCRIBE:http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/options/freeswitch-users http://www.freeswitch.org ____________________________________________________________________________________ Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell. http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/

Re: [Freeswitch-users] fedora 7 softphone
by Anthony Minessale 21 Aug '07

I tracked the problem down to the auth-all-packets set to true on an authenticated call using both eyebeam and zoiper which i think use the same engine cos the sip looks identical. When the auth-all-packets option is set it authenticates every sip message including the ack after the 200ok when the call is answered. The way you do the auth includes putting the method name into the string that you do a hash on eg REGISTER, INVITE, ACK etc Both these clients put the word INVITE in the hash even when it's an ACK and since tolerating this behavior is a security risk we have added it as part of the NDLB (no device left behind) series of config options. update to latest trunk, recompile and add this to your sofia profile somewhere near where you set auth-all-packets <param name="NDLB-broken-auth-hash" value="true"/> With this flag enabled, whenever auth fails on a packet that is not invite or register it will try 1 extra time with the word invite in the hash which will work around the problem.
