Conference and sound file questions
by Jonas Gauffin 17 Mar '07

17 Mar '07

Hello I would like to get more clear examples on how to configure the conference module. First of all, the documentation states that the dialplan action should look like this: <action application="conference" data="confname@profile+flags{mute|deaf}+[conference pin number]"> Would a real world example look like this: <action application="conference" data="myconf@default+flags{mute}+[1234]" /> or should the square brackes be removed? Next, what does "confname" and "profile" correspond to when looking in the conference config? I can understand that "profile" is the same as in <profile name="xxxx">, but what are the confname? (do confname stand for configuration name, or conference name?) ---------- What kind of sound file formats are supported? And what kind of format should the formats be in? =) For instance if wave files are supported, should they be 8khz 8bit mono or something else? //Jonas (i'll add the information to the wiki too)

User Agents and extensions
by Jonas Gauffin 15 Mar '07

Hello When I configure user agents I setup a name and a password, right? How do I map a UA to a specific extension? ---- I have to UA's configured and both have logged in sucessfully (registered in freeswitch). I tried to dial jonas(a)pbx.gauffin.org from micke(a)pbx.gauffin.org, but I got a 404 back. Do I need to configure the dialplan to get that case working or have I missed something else? //Jonas

FreeSwitch and Click 2 Call .. Ala SNAPNumber
by EdPimentl 14 Mar '07

14 Mar '07

What would be the best way to implement http://SnapNumber.com in FS? Here is the description of SNAP Snap is a cutting edge dialer and call pop up application for Asterisk that is flexible and powerful. Snap works by sending the phone number you wish to dial to your PBX and initiating a call back to your phone. Once your phone rings you pick it up and it will be connected to the number you dialed. For Outlook users, the call pop-ups are tightly integrated with your contacts and will show their picture (if available) and display name. The flexibility comes from it's Multi-Connection technology. If you travel between work and home, or would like to have seperate settings for different situations then this feature will be extremely useful for you. You simply dial via a different connection by using the "arrow" to the right of the Dial button to access these connections. Snap integrates with Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, and Thunderbird. The *Firefox and Thunderbird plugin's* automatically detect phone numbers on webpages and make them dialable by simply clicking -E Thanks in advance and best regards, Ed Mail: edpimentl[at]gmail.com sip: sip:2150112@truphone.com IM: edpimentl [AOL | Jabber | Yahoo | MSN ] Voip: edpimentl [SKype | GoogleTalk ] Mobile Content Marketing/Management/Digital Delivery http://mobilecentral.ws Mobile ( Relevant, Ambient, Location ) based Social Network http://TagR.mobi (Alpha) Private Label Social Networks http://6bacon.com http://GooGaYa.com Mobile Payment - P2P Payment http://agilepay.ws Sponsor of P2PSIP open source [viasip_ng] project Creating a standards base P2PSIP dSIP infrastructure https://sourceforge.net/projects/viasip/ Mailing List viasip_ng(a)freelists.org

build system changes.
by Michael Jerris 10 Mar '07

10 Mar '07

Hot off the svn commit, there are now some changes in tree that are the first steps towards our new auto-tools build system. The primary change is that we now enforce usage of the switch_ namespace for apr, apr-utils, pcre, and sqlite. There is also some fixes as to how we setup our include paths for header files, that should help fix some of the issues we have had with header files that were included not being the ones from your current source tree. PLEASE NOTE: if you are building using an auto-tools build (everyone except msvc builds currently) you will NEED to do a "make megaclean" and a new configure after you update to this new code. If you encounter any issues please report them as soon as possible on our bug-tracker at http://jira.freeswitch.org . More changes to the build system will continue to flow into tree over the next week, so if you run into issues, please first try a "make megaclean" and new configure before reporting a problem. Thanks Mike

The iksemel library that we use in libdingaling needs to have GNUtls pre-installed to work properly Follow these steps for unix 1) Install the gnutls package for your OS. 2) go to the freeswitch build root 3) execute..$rm -f libs/iksemel/.complete 4) execute..$make sure For windows see the other thread going around today. I've been having problems that I think are related to NAT issues. The signaling piece of the call was working, but the media piece wouldn't go through. In any case I decided to try the install on a friend's machine that has a public IP and is not behind NAT. His is a debian box with a 2.4 kernel. I used exactly the same dingaling.conf.xml file as on my own installation (which is registering just fine on my box). When I start up freeswitch it's not registering with gtalk. There error appears to be related to TLS not being supported. However I have exactly the same version of freeswitch running on my own box and it uses TSL quite happily. (GNU)TLS and VC++ Edition
by Peter Reimer 08 Mar '07

08 Mar '07

Hi, I'm trying to get freeswitch work together with google talk. Freeswitch has been compiled with Visual C++ Express Edition without any changes in the sources but I get the message "TLS isn't supported in this build". I read somewhere that I have to install GNUTLS and then I did so and added the include- and lib path of gnutls to the project - without any success. Then I looked around in the sources and found: #ifdef HAVE_GNUTLS ... so I added /D "HAVE_GNUTLS" to the iksemel properties and tried to rebuild iksemel but I got many errors (syntax errors in gnutls.h). This seems to be the wrong way... Does anyone have an idea? Greetings, Peter ___________________________________________________________ Telefonate ohne weitere Kosten vom PC zum PC: http://messenger.yahoo.de
