Outbound socket events in XML
by Ivan C Myrvold 17 Dec '07

Is it possible to get the events on outbound socket in XML now? When I use outbound socket, I get something like this: Application = bridge; "Application-Data" = "sofia/imyrvold.dyndns.org/110%25192.168.207.203"; "Caller-Caller-ID-Name" = "Ivan%20C%20Myrvold"; "Caller-Caller-ID-Number" = 100; "Caller-Channel-Answered-Time" = 0; "Caller-Channel-Created-Time" = 1197923559764562; .... .... ....

Call for Help
by Brian West 15 Dec '07

15 Dec '07

I need someone to do some work on this one: At the cli type help... verify each item listed has the proper decription and correct args. For the most part they should be correct on args but the description might not be enough for someone to know what it does. Anyone up for this task? I'm still testing and tweaking the default configuration and have a few more things to add to it. /b

Note on using sipphone.com with FreeSWITCH
by Brian West 14 Dec '07

14 Dec '07

Attention everyone: I have added some examples for setting up various sip providers into SVN under directory/default/ that you can use as templates to setup your connections to those providers. One note that I must inform you all on is the fact that SIPPhone.com advertises _sip._tcp.proxy01.sipphone.com that maps to uap.sipphone.com port 443 which is 100% invalid and doesn't work. So when you send an invite to sipphone it'll take 30 seconds for TCP to timeout and then fall back to UDP. You have three options here: 1. Email SIPPhone and ask them to fix it. Which I have done and yet to get a response about. 2. Disable TCP and only use UDP in oubound.xml profile that you register from for sipphone. 3. Do not use SIPPhone at all. The bottom line is they shouldn't advertise an SRV record for TCP if they do not officially support it. Thanks, Brian West

Re: [Freeswitch-users] mod_ldap
by Anthony Minessale 12 Dec '07

That's what I was trying to explain. The xml files comprise a compiled xml registry document where all of the meta data for FreeSWITCH is stored. There is a way for a loadable module to bind to various sections of that xml document so when something tries to access the document the loadable module's function is called giving it the opportunity to generate the xml on the fly. mod_xml_curl is an example of this. It can bind to one or more sections of the xml registry and when the user directory or the dialplan is accessed, the module will perform an http request to a cgi on a webserver with all the relevant data of the request and that cgi can return the exact portion of the xml document in place of the static version making it possible to make both purely dynamic. My suggestion in my last email was that you could either use this or create the equivalent module that does an ldap request and converts it to xml on the fly. Thanks in advance... j. Anthony Minessale wrote: mod_ldap is a plugin for the directory interface abstraction. To use ldap for this a module similar to mod_xml_curl would have to be made called mod_xml_directory that would allow the "directory interface" to generate xml when the "xml directory was queried" Basically, you would create a blank xml object then using the param strings passed to you make an ldap query via the directory interface that matches what is being looked for. then as you get results you take the data and create tags into the xml object until it's fully populated and return the object to the caller. If this seems like too much, you can also use mod_xml_curl to do a CGI request to your web server then take the params and do the ldap conversion from there and send back a text representation of the xml. mod_ldap is a plugin for the directory interface abstraction.
