C# Example
by James Martelletti 17 Sep '06

This is an example of a FreeSwitch module I developed in C# while testing (before some IVR commands existed that would help make this example smaller). More info will be on its way within a few days. using System; using System.Text; using Freeswitch; using Freeswitch.Modules; using Freeswitch.Types; namespace ModBridgecall { public class ModBridgecall : Module { public ModBridgecall() { Name = "dotnetbridgecall"; AddApplicationInterface(new BridgeApplication()); Register(); } } public class BridgeApplication : Application { public BridgeApplication() { Name = "dotnetbridge"; Syntax = "dotnetbridge blah"; ShortDescription = "short description"; LongDescription = "long description, long description, long description"; ApplicationFunction = new ApplicationFunction (BridgeApplicationFunction); } public void BridgeApplicationFunction(CoreSession coreSession, string data) { CoreSession peerSession; Channel callerChannel = coreSession.Channel; CallerProfile callerProfile; CallerProfile callerCallerProfile = callerChannel.CallerProfile; string chanType = "iax"; string chanData = "guest(a)bleh.com/ext"; uint timelimit = 60; try { callerProfile = new CallerProfile(coreSession, callerCallerProfile.Dialplan, callerCallerProfile.CallerIdName, callerCallerProfile.CallerIdNumber, callerCallerProfile.NetworkAddress, "ani", "ani2", chanData, "source", "destionation"); peerSession = coreSession.OutgoingChannel(chanType, callerProfile); } catch (Exception e) { callerChannel.Hangup(); return; } Ivr.MultiThreadedBridge(coreSession, peerSession, timelimit); } } }

To all who love ruby so.. I got a email back from Matz today who said he will agree to issue a license to us. So mod_ruby is here to stay! Brian

Guess what development language is ready now..

Ok guys.. You asked for it. Ruby's now embedded in Freeswitch. Its not released so you cant use it yet. I found out Ruby is based on the GPL with makes it incompatible with my license of MPL. Until I get the email back from the license holder of Ruby the code will not be going into the tree. But I thought I would let you know its ready. :) Questions, Comments? Lemme know.. How to unsubscribe.
by Brian West 04 Sep '06

04 Sep '06

If you input your email address at the bottom of the list info page: http://lists.freeswitch.org/mailman/listinfo/freeswitch-users ie "bob(a)email.com" Click unsubscribe/edit options Then you click unsubscribe. Mailman sends you a URL that you MUST click on to confirm your unsubscribe. If you fail to do that then you won't get unsubscribed. /b

Regarding mod_g729 & mod_g723_1
by Vlasis Hatzistavrou 04 Sep '06

04 Sep '06

Hello, I noticed that the latest SVN versions have the mod_g729 and mod_g723_1 mods available. I assume that this is pass-through and not regular codecs, but unfortunately, they don't compile. Are they still incomplete (so failure to compile is natural) or am I missing something? I have available logs from the compilation attempts if anyone needs to see them... Best regards, Vlasis Hatzistavrou Kinetix Tele.com

And the JavaScript modules http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/FreeSwitch+Javascript+Session ? Async Test new_session = new Session("", "exosip", "888(a)10.200.68.194"); new_session.waitForAnswer(10000); for(x = 0; x < 3; x++) { if(new_session.ready) { console_log("hello " + new_session.state + "\n"); new_session.speak("cepstral", "david", "Hello I am a prank caller generated from javascript, boo"); console_log("hello " + new_session.state + "\n"); } } console_log("bye " + new_session.state + "\n"); =============== Call Test new_session = new Session(session, "exosip", "888(a)10.200.68.194"); bridge(session, new_session); console_log("***********BLAH\n"); ================== OutTest session = new Session("", "exosip", "888(a)10.200.68.194"); session.waitForAnswer(10000); session2 = new Session(session, "exosip", "3920(a)10.3.3.104"); bridge(session, session2, 60000); session.hangup(); session2.hangup(); ======== //jsrun outtest.js new_session.hangup(); new_session.hangup(); The Definitive Guide To XML Dialplan: The "dialplan" section of the freeswitch.xml meta document may contain several contexts <?xml version="1.0"?> <document type="freeswitch/xml"> <section name="dialplan" description="Regex/XML Dialplan"> <context name="default"> </context> </section> </document> The important thing to remember is that the dialplan is parsed once when the call hits the dialplan parser in the RING state. With one pass across the XML the result will be a complete list of instructions installed into the channel based on parsed <action> or <anti-action> tags. Those accustomed to Asterisk may expect the call to follow the dialplan by executing the applications as it parses them allowing data obtained from one action to influence the next action. This not the case with the exception being the %{api func} {api arg} field type where an pluggable api call from a module may be executed as the parsing occurs but this is meant to be used to draw realtime info such as date and time or other quickly accessible information and shold *not* be abused. The anatomy of an <extension> tag. Legend: Text wrapped in [] indicates optional and is not part of the actual code. a '|' inside [] indicates mutiple possible values and also is not part of the code. Text wrapped in {} indicates it's a description of the parameter in place of the param itself. <extension name="{exten_name}" [continue="[true|false]"]> continue=true means even if an extension executes to continue parsing the next extension too The {exten_name} above may anything but if it's an exact match with the destination number the parser will leap to this extension to begin the searching that does not mean it will execute the extension. Searching will either begin at the first extension in the context or at the point the the parser has jumped to in the case described above. Each condition is parsed in turn first taking the 'field' param. The parser will apply the perl regular expression to each 'field' param encountered. If the expression matches, it will parse each existing <action> tag in turn and add the data from the <application> tags to the channels todo list. If a matched expression contains any data wrapped in () the variables $1,$2..$N will be valid and expanded in any of 'data' params from the subsequent action tags. If the expression does NOT match, it will parse each <anti-action> tag in turn and add the data from the <application> tags to the channels todo list. * NOTE* since there was no match the () feature is not availabe in anti-actions The 'break' param indicates how to behave in relation to matching: * ) 'on-true' - stop searching conditions after the first successful match. * ) 'on-false' - stop searching after the first unsuccessful match. * ) 'always' - stop at this conditon regardless of a match or non-match. * ) 'never' - continue searching regardless of a match or non-match. <condition field="[{field name}|${variable name}|%{api func} {api arg}]" expression="{expression}" break="[on-true|on-false|always|never]"> <action application="{app name}" data="{app arg}"/> <anti-action application="{app name}" data="{app arg}"/> </condition> </extension> Please post these question to freeswitch-users(a)lists.freeswitch.org so others can benefit from the answers. -A

Windows mod_conference.
by Michael Jerris 04 Sep '06

04 Sep '06

For those who were working on mod_conference on windows, I just committed the fix that allows you to properly use sound files on windows in mod conference, the config requirement is similar to on *nix, you must use the full path to the file (ie C:\Windows\Media\blah.wav). It knows it's a file and not tts by the ":". Please test it out and let me know. Mike

What's differents with "session" and "channel"?
by will 04 Sep '06

04 Sep '06

I am confused "session" with "channel" in FreeSwitch. A channel is a connection which brings in a call to the FreeSwitch. Once a call is established, it is named "session". So multi session could exist in one channel, am I right? Will
