According to the log, second device (which works) is using UDP, and first device is using TCP. Try to change it to UDP first and see if this fixes anything. Just update the Planet firmware. It has worked in the past for me and it won't break the feature "it works with Asterisk".
Not trying to be unpopular but if "with Asterisk works" and you don't want to do what we suggested, might as well stay with Asterisk, don't you think?

As a developer I can tell you we often break the rules to get ${device} to work because there is a big need to make it work even tho ${device} is clearly broken and doesn't function the way it should... Sonus is a great example of this (just google around and you'll find all sorts of issues related to this)
