media_bug_answer_req not working for me
Hi, Has anyone used media_bug_answer_req=true? Is there some trick to using it? My recordings are happening fine, except that the ringtone is included at the start. This is the relevant parts of the dialplan - I've stripped out a bunch of other things, and just included the things that could be relevant. <action application="set" data="hangup_after_bridge=false"/> <action application="set" data="continue_on_fail=true"/> <action application="set" data="call_timeout=20"/> <action application="set" data="storageName=${dialed_extension}_${strftime(%Y%m%d_%H%M)}"/> <action application="set" data="storagePath=/opt/files/${strftime(%Y%m)}"/> <action application="set" data="call_timeout=20"/> <action application="export" data="nolocal:execute_on_answer=javascript BridgeConnected.js"/> <action application="javascript" data="BridgeBefore.js"/> <action application="set" data="*media_bug_answer_req*=true"/> <action application="record_session" data="${storagePath}/${storageName}.wav"/> <action application="bridge" data="user/${dialed_extension}@ ${domain_name}"/> I'm on v1.0.5 (rev16966) so I shouldn't be using the old variable (RECORD_ANSWER_REQ ) Cheers, Fraser
Could be because the variable is RECORD_ANSWER_REQ /b On Mar 29, 2010, at 1:34 PM, Fraser Redmond wrote:

<action application="set" data="hangup_after_bridge=false"/> <action application="set" data="continue_on_fail=true"/> <action application="set" data="call_timeout=20"/> <action application="set" data="storageName=${dialed_extension}_${strftime(%Y%m%d_%H%M)}"/> <action application="set" data="storagePath=/opt/files/${strftime(%Y%m)}"/> <action application="set" data="call_timeout=20"/> <action application="export" data="nolocal:execute_on_answer=javascript BridgeConnected.js"/> <action application="javascript" data="BridgeBefore.js"/>
<action application="set" data="media_bug_answer_req=true"/> <action application="record_session" data="${storagePath}/${storageName}.wav"/> <action application="bridge" data="user/${dialed_extension}@${domain_name}"/>

Thanks, wiki says it changed: http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Variable_media_bug_answer_req I did try the old RECORD_ANSWER_REQ too, just in case (and have tried it again now, to be sure), and it doesn't work either. did you check your logs and make sure your channel is not actually already answered before you called bridge? On Mon, Mar 29, 2010 at 1:51 PM, Fraser Redmond <fraserredmond@gmail.com>wrote:

I've shifted the <action application="set" data="*media_bug_answer_req*=true"/> to be the first action in the dialplan, and it's still not working. Before, the aleg was answered, then the variable set and record_session set, then the bridge was performed. I have just confirmed it does indeed work. Care to pastebin your logs and your dialplan again? /b On Mar 29, 2010, at 4:03 PM, Fraser Redmond wrote:

Thanks Brian, mostly I just wanted some reassurance that it worked for anyone - couldn't find many people referring to it, with it being such a new variable. I stripped my dialplan down to a test version that I could pastebin, then stripped it down further until it started working, then added code back in until I'd narrowed it down to this line being the one that breaks it: <action application="set" data="ringback=${us-ring}"/> Any idea why that would break it? Can that be set somewhere else or some other way? Here's the pastebin's in case it helps anything: Dialplan xml http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/12583 Log Output http://pastebin.freeswitch.org/12584 Cheers, Fraser On Mon, Mar 29, 2010 at 10:12 PM, Brian West <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:
