Do any of you freeswitchers have a recommendation of a service to monitor gateway reg or freeswitch status. Something that can have a web interface and SMS/Email alerts. -- *Blakelund Priddy* Network & Systems Engineer Bryant Public School District Bryant, Arkansas 72022 http://www.bryantschools.org p 501-653-5038 f 501-847-5656
Hi Blake, we're using Nagios with the awesome check_mk plugin. FreeSWITCH is simply queried using snmp. This way I can monitor and graph active calls/sessions, sessions per second, uptime. I wrote some small check_mk SNMP plugins for FreeSWITCH, if someone's interested I guess I can upload them somewhere. Additinally we wrote some site specific check_mk plugins that simply query some stuff using "fs_cli -x" and parse the output (e.g. availabiility of some special callcenter agents that have to be logged in). See http://mathias-kettner.com/check_mk.html for documentation on check_mk plugins. If you know some Python it's really easy to monitor whatever you want. To get up and running with the whole monitoring stack there's http://omdistro.org/ from the same guys, it's a complete and integrated package of everything you need to get a Nagios stack with all popular plugins running with minimal Nagios knowledge. Pingdom can monitor the :5060 port, they have email (within their free 1-site-only tier) and some sort of SMS support (maybe only paid). It's just a TCP check on port 5060 upto every minute. "There’s also a free plan <https://www.pingdom.com/free/> that lets you monitor 1 website/server. We’ve included Real User Monitoring and 20 SMS alerts." I also use uptimerobot <https://uptimerobot.com> - unlimited free checks, but only at 5 minute resolution. Just specify "custom port" -- 5060. They have some sort of SMS option, but it relies on the free SMS services so they don't promise it will work... -Avi On Mon, May 19, 2014 at 5:33 PM, Blake Priddy <bpriddy@bryantschools.org>wrote:
