We went through a lot of these issues in developing the W32 native build of Bayonne. Visual Studio does not offer a very usable model (or existing default standard locations) for installing third party libraries, in my opinion. I had looked at how some projects (like the native gtk port for example) handle this, and how other things do, and I hated them all, though the methods we choose are most similar to what gtk eventually did. We use Program Files\Common Files\GNU Telephony for shared dll's and Program Files\GNU Telephony for development files, rather than having everything in one root directory like the native \gtk port did. We also do some things with dll file naming to try and create abi based versioning. We use inno setup to build our installers, and I would be happy to see if we can build one for freeswitch if nobody else does one when it is far enough along where building such installers would be useful. ivancoder wrote:
Its been a while since I’ve done any c programming (mostly have been doing java for a while) – ideally, I was hoping to just have an install that I could double click and run and test but it looks like the code is not in that stage yet..
can someone post some setup instructions for a developer setup in windows (should something like install visual studio, download code, hit compile and it will build everything that’s needed work?) – flame away if you think I should figure this out by myself – but I’m guessing there’s quite a few people that haven’t done c in a while..

Hi,
You can call make nodepends to deactivate all the autobuilding features but it's much harder
to build then.
as for the mission .so
add $prefix/lib to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH
If you build to the default location /usr/local/freeswitch
add /usr/local/freeswitch/lib to ld.so.conf and run ldconfig
or set it from the command line
$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/freeswitch/lib /usr/local/freeswitch/bin/freeswitch
or set it as an environment variable from a prompt or in your shell rc file
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/freeswitch/lib

Hi ! Luckly freeswitch installed on my system after downloading other libraries. But when i run freeswitch I get this error
./freeswitch: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/freeswitch/lib/libfreeswitch.so.1: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied
Any idea how to solve this problem.
Best Regards, Abdul Qadir
