Did you try the python script from the command line? Go to http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_voicemail#Debugging_an_external_mailer and instead of using sendmail, use the arguments you have chosen with sendemail.py cat email.txt | /usr/local/freeswitch/scripts/sendemail.py -i -d -ffreeswitch@mydomain.com -t testuser@mydomain.com Changing the email addresses for your situation.
