I just take this opportunity to gain understanding of tone_detect app. Is it possible to detect cadence with the combination of timeout and hits parameters? An actual case using FreeTDM/Dahdi: Ringing tone is given 425 Hz 1 sec on and 4 secs off. But a busy tone is 0.5 sec on and 0.5 sec off. The congestion at faster cadence 0.25 sec on and 0.25 sec off - although it's no longer important to disconnect a call. Or anybody can lead me to a better solution? Its relative to the leg of the call that the app is executed on. Most things in FS are specific to call legs.

I figured that, I suppose this sounds dense (and of course I've seen the wiki page), but every call has data from two ends - in two directions - 4 data streams (or more) so is read reading both incoming streams? or is it from the perspective of the caller (probably?) or the callie(probably not).
there is no OR its always AND
What I thought.
if single tone sets it off then you might need more hits. Tone detection is imperfect.
I think I was close to 100% modulation - I moved to
<action application="tone_detect" data="busy-pan 350,440 w 0 hangup 2>
and it works..
