an alternate option would be to do the work to properly package v8 so that we can add it to the packages. there was some difficulty in doing so when we packaged for centos 7 and that's why it's not in there, we are happy to review patches that add this capability. Well, Debian is not always an option, for example in my company. Sometimes it *has* to be RHEL or Centos (and building rpm-s from scratch is not the easiest way).
