The timerfd stuff is experimental so play around and see. with 1000hz timer you don't need timerfd but it won't hurt. Its very dependant on the motherboard and cpu etc.
Ok Cool. Will report back once I can get this going. Right now I can't even get FS to compile on this platform. It can't find the libssl and I have all packages installed. Like it finds it, but complains that those ones are incompatible perhaps coz they're 32-bit and I'm trying to compile it using the 64-bit switches fed to the configure switch. Ugh...wasted so much time on this :(
