For more intense packet capturing techniques I recommend this page: https://confluence.freeswit.ch/display/FREESWITCH/Packet+Capture pcap files are useful for analyzing with Wireshark. There's a few links there to videos and such to get you started with Wireshark. Once you use it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. :) -MC
