Crypto not negotiated but required.
Hi, I have been trying to build my first production FreeSWITCH system, and am currently stuck on the following. When I try and dial the 5000 demo system, I am getting: switch_core_media.c:3455 Crypto not negotiated but required. I am using the Zoiper software client under Linux. Thanks in advance Richard
it sounds like one side is configured to require srtp but the other side is not? On Jun 2, 2014, at 5:49 AM, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Michael, I understand, so do I need to adjust settings in sip_internal? Thanks On 2 June 2014 13:50, Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:

This would depend on which end is configured which way, and what you are trying to make it do. On Jun 2, 2014, at 1:37 PM, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Michael, Just ring extension 5000 from a sip client running Zoiper on a vanilla installation Richard On 2 June 2014 14:57, Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:

Since we have no sip trace to go on, or any other information about what rev of FreeSWITCH you're currently running we can only guess at this point. I do know the behaviors of SRTP changed, If you're running master or 1.4 you can open up conf/vars.xml and read the extensive documentation on the changes and how they behave. -- Brian West brian@freeswitch.org Twitter: @FreeSWITCH , @briankwest http://www.freeswitchbook.com http://www.freeswitchcookbook.com T: +1.918.420.9001 | F: +1.918.420.9002 | M: +1.918.424.WEST iNUM: +883 5100 1420 9001 ISN: 410*543 Skype:briankwest PGP Key: http://www.bkw.org/key.txt (AB93356707C76CED) On Jun 2, 2014, at 9:04 AM, Richard Mace <richard.mace@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Brian, Thanks for the info. Sorry I thought I'd mentioned that it was a fresh vanilla build of 1.4 previously, my bad I'll read through the changes in the vars file. For reference, possible stupid question, but how would I do a sip trace? Richard On 2 Jun 2014 15:42, "Brian West" <brian@freeswitch.org> wrote:

Try this first: https://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Reporting_Bugs#Quick_and_Easy_SIP_Trace The corresponding Confluence page is: https://confluence.freeswit.ch/display/FREESWITCH/Reporting+Bugs It doesn't yet have all the page anchors so you'll have to scroll down to find that specific section. For more intense packet capturing techniques I recommend this page: https://confluence.freeswit.ch/display/FREESWITCH/Packet+Capture pcap files are useful for analyzing with Wireshark. There's a few links there to videos and such to get you started with Wireshark. Once you use it you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. :) -MC
