Ok for streaming you can use the mod_shout and then pipe to a file for recording and from there you can pretty much do whatever you want. Depends which version and which OS. The linux build is pretty stable, I have it running for quite a few days without any issues. It does not have a UI to manage or bill for calls etc, so if you are ok with being able to do everything from a shell then its fine. Thanks for the prompt reply.
I was just wondering: How stable is Freeswitch? Would you consider it stable enough to put it in production?
Thanks, Madhuri

Hi,
I just started exploring Freeswitch.
Is live streaming of the incoming call possible with Freeswitch? I know there are applications such as ices which would work with asterisk to achieve the same.
Would this be possible with Freeswitch? I noticed that there is mod_shout in Freeswitch.
You can use the record application and record to a shoutcast stream, yes.
Also, as I understand from the documentation
available
on the web, wideband voip (Speex 16 KHz) is possible with Freeswitch. Correct?
Correct.
