Hi, I just started exploring Freeswitch. Is live streaming of the incoming call possible with Freeswitch? I know there are applications such as ices which would work with asterisk to achieve the same. Would this be possible with Freeswitch? I noticed that there is mod_shout in Freeswitch. Also, as I understand from the documentation available on the web, wideband voip (Speex 16 KHz) is possible with Freeswitch. Correct? Thanks, Madhuri __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

You can use the record application and record to a shoutcast stream, yes.

Correct.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I was just wondering: How stable is Freeswitch? Would you consider it stable enough to put it in production? Thanks, Madhuri --- Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:

Ok for streaming you can use the mod_shout and then pipe to a file for recording and from there you can pretty much do whatever you want. Depends which version and which OS. The linux build is pretty stable, I have it running for quite a few days without any issues. It does not have a UI to manage or bill for calls etc, so if you are ok with being able to do everything from a shell then its fine. FreeSWITCH(tm) has still yet to reach an official release. That being said, I know of people using it in production. As with any piece of software, particularly open source software, the determination of production ready needs to be made by the user by testing for their needs. We do take some great lengths to try to make FreeSWITCH(tm) as stable as possible, but in no way can I offer you a warranty for use for your specific purpose. With every new revision and move towards release it gets better. Your testing feedback will help us provide an even better project for all. Thanks Mike
Yes. I understand. I will certainly provide feedback. Once again, thanks for prompt replies. I really like the fact that this is a very user friendly/responsive mailing list. Madhuri --- Michael Jerris <mike@jerris.com> wrote:
