Yes, it should work on Raspberry because ARMv5TE is the subset of ARMv6 and ARMv7 command sets. It can be even faster as ARMv6/v7 has many advanced instructions(ex. division by hardware). As for open sourcing, sorry guys, but I can't. First of all because Freeswitch Solutions Llc is official licensee of Sipro(g.729 patent holder). That sounds interesting :) I read that in Europe this is legal for non-commercial use.
Does ARMv5TE work on Raspberries? I know that Raspberry PI has an ARMv6 cpu. Would you be interested in uploading your code to Freeswitch git?
@topic starter: maybe this is offtopic but there are several g729 codecs for arm, but unfortunately not directly available for freeswitch: - https://bitbucket.org/samm_hg/asterisk-g72x/ / http://sourceforge.net/p/raspbx/discussion/general/thread/60bb4113/?page=2 - https://code.google.com/p/g729/ - http://sourceforge.net/p/raspbx/discussion/general/thread/366d6ec4/

Hi,
I implemented assembler optimized g.729a for ARMv5TE instruction set for my private use (laws of my country allowing that). Transcoding Linear16 <-> g.729a costs something around 6-7% of CPU on Marvell Kirkwood at 1.2Ghz.
Best Regards, Dmitry.

Hi Brian
I would be. The only concern is the penalization on CPU.

Does the project have any plans to sell G729 codecs for AMR as well as for x86_64/i386? My company has been running a FS VoIP PA endpoint on ARM, kind of like Ken's Switch Pi, but simpler, and we'd really like to put G729 on the things, if possible.
