This is correct. Just two points to add:

#1 - FIFO is not ACD. The call isn't transferred to the agent's phone until
*after* the agent picks up, therefore there is no way to send the caller ID
prior to the agent picking up

#2 - Some soft phones (*cough*x-lite*cough*) do not support the display
update, so be warned...
